List of Elaeocarpus species

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The following is an alphabetical list of Elaeocarpus species accepted by Plants of the World Online as at January 2021:[1]

Elaeocarpus grandis is a synonym of E. angustifolius,[2] and E. michaelii is a synonym of E. culminicola in the Plants of the World Online database as of February 2021.[3] Both taxa were analysed as synonyms in the 1984 paper Elaeocarpus in Australia and New Zealand by M. J. E. Coode.[4] For some reason the Australian Plant Census database continued to consider the two as valid species as of February 2021.[5][6] Many other species as recognised in various local websites, and some species accepted by Plants of the World Online in the list above, are considered synonyms by Elaeocarpus experts.
