Fire Up (simplified Chinese: 美味下半场) is a Singaporean television drama series produced by Wawa Pictures in 2016, starring Huang Biren and Thomas Ong as the main characters of the series. Huang portrays the drama's main protagonist as a two-time ex-convict, who resolves to turn her life around and sets up a zi char stall, after failing to get a job, following her release from prison. She works hard and tries her best to make amends to her two grown-up children while helping other fellow ex-offenders find jobs (by hiring them to work at her stall) and re-integrate back into society. The series began airing on Mediacorp Channel 8 on 4 October 2016 with 20 episodes.

| Zheng Meimei (Huang Biren) has completed her eight-year prison sentence. On the day of her release, her daughter, Xiangfei (Hayley Woo), is detained by a shopowner for stealing a dog. While pleading for leniency, Meimei and her mother, Delan (Lin Ru Ping), accidentally damage the shop’s CCTV. A policeman, who happens to be Meimei’s son, Xiangfan (Brian Ng), is dispatched to settle the dispute. Meimei takes out all her savings to compensate the shop owner. Back at home, Meimei realises the eight years of separation has distanced her from her children. Xiangfan is cold and contemptuous towards her. Meimei’s criminal record precludes her from many jobs. Her good friend Eva (Constance Song) recommends a nightclub job, but Meimei is quickly fired. Meimei fixes up Eva’s old motorcycle and secures a job with the courier company. While making a delivery, she encounters Zhuang Yingxiong (Thomas Ong), who offers her $10,000 to chase a sports car. Yingxiong is a wealthy bachelor and loves clubbing. He is pursuing Tina (Kelly), a model, and has given her a sports car. She says he will have a chance with her if he is able to overtake her while she is driving the car. Meimei fulfils her task but Yingxiong does not have enough cash with him. He gives her an expensive watch as collateral. Xiangfei claims the watch is worth more than US$100,000. The next day, Yingxiong arrives to redeem the watch. To Meimei’s horror, the watch is nowhere to be found. | |||

| Yingxiong wants to make a police report. Meimei begs him to give her three days to find the watch. To avoid getting reprimanded by his father, he agrees. Eva suspects Xiangfei. Meimei questions him, and he denies the accusation unequivocably. Delan returns home after her mahjong session and learns about the missing watch. It turns out that she has given it to her singing teacher, Tony. She figured it was just a cheap imitation. Afraid to face his father, Dexian (Chen Shucheng), about the missing watch, Yingxiong pretends to be ill. His brother, Yingcai (Steve Yap), sees through his act and suggests he lie that he was robbed. Dexian believes Yingxiong’s lies. Meimei and Delan rush to Batam to find Tony. He refuses to return the watch. Delan kneels down and begs, and he finally relents. Meimei wants Yingxiong to give her cash in exchange for the watch, as promised. They argue heatedly, and their exchange is recorded by Yingcai. Yingxiong agrees to give Meimei another $10,000 if she returns his watch immediately. Yingxiong shows Dexian his recovered watch. Dexian claims he was in-the-know, and expresses his disappointment in his son. Yingcai misleads Yingxiong into believing it was Meimei who leaked the secret. Meimei promises to buy Xiangfei a pedigree dog. She goes looking for Yingxiong, as she wants to collect the money due to her. However, he sends the security guards to chase her away. Meimei is upset at her helplessness. To make things worse, she is fired for not reporting to work for two days. Yingxiong tries hard to win his father’s favour. He orders a rare koi for Dexian’s birthday. Unfortunately, the koi dies after Yingxiong gives it to him. Taking this to mean bad luck, Dexian faints. | |||

| Dexian is incensed over the dead koi. Yingxiong’s mother (Xu Qiongfang) voices her concern that Yingcai may have backstabbed him. Yingxiong doubts this. Yingcai hands an integrated resort project over to Yingxiong. Eager to change his father’s impression of him, Yingxiong signs the contract, thus falling into the trap Yingcai has set. The company loses $20 million, and he is forced to resign. Yingcai bribes a reporter to expose Yingxiong’s embarrassing moments. Concerned about his share of the inheritance, Yingxiong’s mother suggests he should do more charity work to please his father. Meimei is grateful to an old couple who do not mind her background and hire her to work at their eatery. The old couple is in financial difficulty. Meimei offers to take over the eatery. At the same time, Xiangfei loses a friend’s dog. Meimei has to come up with a large amount of money in a short time. Meimei calls on Yingxiong for the $20,000 he promised. He gives her a company cheque reluctantly. The cheque bounces. Meimei kicks up a fuss at Yingxiong’s office. Some reporters happen to be around. Yingxiong quick-wittedly relates Meimei’s pitiful life and announces that he has left his current employment to start a new project: Angels’ Foundation, which aims to give ex-convicts a second chance in life. | |||

| Yingxiong gives Meimei $20,000. He admits he is not interested in starting a business with her. The dramatic announcement was only a publicity stunt. Eva is fired from her job. Meimei asks her to be her assistant. Dexian praises Yingxiong for setting up Angels’ Foundation. Yingxiong agrees to let Meimei run the eatery. Xiangfan finds Angel’s (Yap Huixin) missing dog. He learns of her wish to travel to France to learn to make desserts and wonders why she did not do so when she was there. Yingxiong plans to renovate the eatery, to make it the first five-star restaurant in an HDB estate. Meimei objects. Dexian arrives to sample the signature dishes. Afraid Dexian’s high-blood pressure will act up, Yingxiong accepts Meimei’s suggestions reluctantly. Dexian asks Meimei to supervise Yingxiong. Yingxiong argues with Meimei over staff employment issues. While driving, Yingxiong flirts with Tina and almost knocks down an elderly person. His attempts at compensation are interrupted by Lin Jiguang (Ernest Chong). They start arguing and Jiguang threatens to beat him up. | |||

| Meimei cooks a dish of minced pork with salted fish. She remembers eating the same dish during her secondary school days and decides to visit an old friend. She learns unexpectedly that the friend had passed away and her son, Jiguang, is selling fishcake. She encourages him to work at her eatery. Yingxiong grumbles about the eatery’s declining business, and Meimei proposes a $1 set meal. He rejects the idea, but Dexian is all for it and he has no choice but to give in. Yingxiong objects to Jiguang working at the eatery. Meimei suggests Jiguang try out for three days and prepare a dish that would satisfy Yingxiong. The $1 set meal is a big hit, but Jiguang offends the customers. Yingxiong scoffs at him, and he vows to prove his worth. Sceptical about Jiguang’s abilities, Eva advises Meimei to prepare the dish on his behalf. She refuses, and Jiguang too insists on doing it himself. Yingxiong arrives to taste Jiguang’s minced pork with salted fish. Story (Chen Mei Xin) is invited to be the judge. Everyone who tries the dish is rendered speechless. Thinking it unpleasant, Yingxiong takes a bite. He is left without a word too. Meimei bids Jiguang farewell and promises to stay in touch. | Story interviews Jiguang and realises he has a deep sense of filial piety towards his mother. She notices how quiet Shaolong (Haden Hee) is and tries to probe, and is rewarded with a cold shoulder from him. Yingxiong returns home, which to him is depressing, since no one is around. Meimei calls and tells him to go to the eatery at once. He soon figures that she wants the eatery’s staff to have a meal together, to boost their morale. Xiangfei befriends Steve (Benjamin Josiah Tan), who is from a wealthy family. She shares the news with Angel happily. She also reveals she is aware Xiangfan is courting Angel. While on a date with Angel, Xiangfan encourages her to participate in a cake-baking competition. Steve’s parents gain a good impression of Xiangfei at their first meeting. Meimei wants to meet Steve too. Xiangfei is non-committal, and Meimei’s feelings are hurt. Angel proceeds into the final round of the competition. Watching her on television, Yingxiong suggests she would be a suitable spokesperson for the eatery. Meimei objects; she is aware Angel does not want anyone to know she has a criminal record. Yingxiong meets up with David, the television producer. He offers David a cheque, in an attempt to bribe him into making Angel the winner of the competition. | Yingxiong is snubbed by David. Angel is under tremendous pressure because of the competition. She is on the verge of turning to drugs but Xiangfei stops her. He encourages her to deal with the stress on her own strength. Angel wins the competition. Xiangfan and Xiangfei celebrate with her. The next day, pictures of Yingxiong bribing David make the newspaper headlines. The reports also mention Angel has served sentence for drug abuse. Yingxiong is beaten up by David. Meimei rebukes Yingxiong for acting impetuously. Because of him, Angel has to suffer an injustice. Angel’s parents are university professors, and they had high hopes for her. They forced her to concentrate on her studies instead of recognising her talent as a dessert chef. Unable to handle the stress, she resorted to taking drugs. She was jailed and became estranged from them. Angel’s old wounds are reopened, and she attempts suicide. Though Meimei talks her out of it, Xiangfei and Xiangfan are still unhappy with Meimei. Yingxiong is reprimanded by Dexian. Yingcai speaks up for him. Yingxiong does not realise it was Yingcai who hired the private investigator and tipped the press off. Dexian expresses his disappointment in Yingxiong. Meimei wants Yingxiong to have dinner with everyone at the eatery. She wants them to forgive him because they are considered family. He appreciates her kindness. Yingxiong apologises to Angel. He hopes Xiangfei and Xiangfan will forgive Meimei. Incensed, Xiangfan berates him for destroying Angel’s dream and declares no amount of money can make up for it. | |||

| Eva supports Yingxiong’s “money can realise every dream” premise. Jiguang and Shaolong disagree. When Shaolong is asked the reason for his prison sentence, he does not answer. Jiguang discovers Shaolong composes songs and can play the piano. He wants to learn from him how to woo a girl, and Shaolong agrees. Xiangfei calls on Yingxiong and asks him to carry out his promise to fulfil everyone’s dreams. Yingxiong allows Xiangfei to use his condominium unit, and says it was he who exposed Angel’s past, not Meimei. Xiangfei reconciles with Meimei. When Meimei learns Yingxiong lends his apartment to Xiangfei so she can pretend to be a rich girl, she quarrels with Xiangfei yet again. Xiangfei raps Yingxiong for taking his apartment back. Yingxiong promises to help Angel realise her dream. When asked by Meimei, George (Tosh Zhang), a dessert chef, agrees to be a guest at the eatery for three days, to promote it, as well as to guide Angel. He had rejected the earlier request by Yingxiong. George tastes Angel’s winning dessert from the competition and condemns it. He tells her to stop pursuing her dream of being a chef. | |||

| Hurt by George’s comments, Angel rushes out of the eatery in tears. Everyone is indignant, but they praise George’s culinary skills. George explains to Meimei that every chef has to learn to take criticism; only then will they succeed. She relates this to Angel, who apologises to George. He refuses to accept her as his protege but does not mind her observing him as he works. Jiguang serenades Story with the new song Shaolong has taught him. Much to his dismay, she accuses him of copying the song, as she has heard Shaolong singing it before. Thinking Shaolong has deliberately ruined him, Jiguang confronts him. He also claims Shaolong likes Story. Steve’s parents find out Xiangfei does not come from a wealthy family. They also discover her poor background and her ex-convict mother. They expose her lies and forbid Steve to date her. Reluctantly, Xiangfei breaks up with Steve. She blames Meimei, accusing her of leaving a black mark on their lives. Yingxiong tries to console Meimei. She reveals the reason she was put in jail. Yingxiong encourages her not to give up on herself, as she has been given a second chance in life. Dexian feels Yingxiong is not mature enough, and will only consider allowing him to return to the company after he gets married. At the same time, Tina hints so Yingxiong that she wants to settle down. But he is still uncertain about their relationship. She suggests they go serious first. She accompanies him to the eatery and introduces herself as his fiancee. | |||

| Everyone at the eatery is surprised to learn Tina is Yingxiong’s fiancee. However, she can’t seem to get along with anyone. Creating an awkward moment, Jiguang asks Yingxiong if he will marry Tina or Meimei. During the meal, Eva senses Meimei is uncomfortable. After everyone leaves, she asks Meimei if she has fallen for Yingxiong. Meimei denies this fervently, but Eva encourages her to compete fairly with Tina. Following this, Meimei feels awkward whenever she is with Yingxiong. She asks herself if she really likes him. Dexian and his wife adore Tina. Ivy (Eelyn Kok) and Yingcai are concerned Yingxiong will be in his father’s good books after he gets married. Yingcai arranges for a sexy girl to seduce Yingxiong into going to a hotel and for reporters to photograph them. Just in time, Yingxiong stops himself and leaves the hotel. Nonetheless, reports on him and the girl are still published. Dexian reprimands him and refuses to believe he did not do anything. Meimei and Tina believe he is innocent. Steve forgives Xiangfei and assures her that their relationship will hold regardless of his parents’ objections. She is touched. Meimei and Yingxiong invite Angel to join their eatery. Angel is received warmly and begins to regard the eatery’s staff as her family. Yingxiong finds he cannot get along with Tina’s friends. He leaves their get-together and finds himself heading for the eatery. When he sees Meimei, he suddenly realises she is the right person for him. | |||

| Learning Yingxiong has quarreled with Tina about ex-convicts, Meimei mediates. Eva realises Meimei likes Yingxiong. Steve’s parents have stopped his allowance, and he has no choice but to ask Xiangfei to pay for their lunch. Delan reminds Xiangfei she may end up on the losing end if she continues dating Steve., and she begins to think things over. Angel creates a unique dessert, which becomes the signature dish of the eatery. When Story interviews her, Angel expresses her appreciation to Meimei. Disregarding her safety, Story locates a gang leader for a story on the underground world. She is nearly sexually assaulted by him. Shaolong gets her out of the predicament but refuses to be interviewed and is tight-lipped about his past. At Meimei’s suggestion, Yingxiong takes Tina to the eatery to mingle with the staff. He hopes to change her perception of ex-convicts, but Tina ends up quarrelling with Eva. Eva encourages Meimei to confess her feelings to Yingxiong. She tells her not to look down on herself and reveals Tina was once a kept woman. Tina asks Yingxiong to set a wedding date. He replies that there is no hurry and he is still uncertain of his feelings. A magazine does an exposé on Tina, labelling her as a wealthy man’s mistress. Dexian insists Yingxiong should break up with her, but Yingxiong refuses. Tina is swarmed by reporters. Yingxiong rescues her, then proceeds to break up with her. Tina thinks it is Meimei who tipped the reporters off. Drunk and highly strung, she knocks Meimei down with her car. | |||

| Meimei is hospitalised. Infuriated, Yingxiong declares he will not let Tina off. Meimei forgives her and does not press charges, and Tina is grateful. Before she leaves, she tells Yingxiong he is actually in love with Meimei. Meimei has not told her son and daughter about her condition. Yingxiong visits her and takes care of her. Eva is pleased their relationship has deepened. Steve’s job search has so far been unsuccessful. Unaware Xiangfei has seen him lowering his dignity in his bid to get a job, he keeps up a generous front. She has no confidence in their future together. Meimei and Yingxiong invite Angel’s parents to taste her dessert. Although it makes them recall their unhappy past, Angel plucks up the courage to talk things out with them and they reunite. Steve pawns his expensive watch to buy a present for Xiangfei. She finds out, and borrows money from Yingxiong to redeem the watch. Returning the watch to Steve, she breaks up with him. Yingcai is surprised Yingxiong did not have a conflict with Dexian over Tina. He suspects Yingxiong’s change in attitude has something to do with the eatery. Steve goes to the eatery to try to talk Xiangfei out of the breakup. She announces she has a new boyfriend and he is Yingxiong. | |||

| Xiangfei thanks Yingxiong for helping her shake Steve off. She admires his maturity. She reveals her father was a jerk. Back then, pregnant out of wedlock, Meimei had hurt someone else to save him, but he left her for another woman. Meimei was jailed for assault, and Xiangfei has hated her since. Yingxiong sympathises with Meimei. Meimei objects to Yingxiong being Xiangfei’s boyfriend. She warns him not to court her daughter. Story bakes cookies to thank Shaolong for saving her from the gang leader. He hides the cookies and is incensed when Jiguang steals them. They quarrel. Meimei and Yingxiong intervene, and Yingxiong is injured. Yingxiong takes the drunk Xiangfei home, and Meimei is cold towards him. The gang leader seeks revenge against Shaolong. The latter wants to leave the underground world but is made to accept a punishment first. Although Jiguang is on bad terms with Shaolong over Story, he rushes over to block a knife attack. Meimei arrives to find both of them lying in a pool of blood. Yingxiong asks Meimei why she is behaving coldly towards him. He confesses his feelings for her. | |||

| Meimei accepts Yingxiong’s love but asks him not to tell anyone about their romance. At home, Meimei finds out Xiangfei got drunk because she had failed to attract Yingxiong. Yingcai notices Yingxiong glowing with happiness and working diligently. He goes to the eatery to probe and hires an investigator to check into the background of everyone working there. He is surprised to learn Yingxiong is dating Meimei. Shaolong grew up at an orphanage. Since going astray, he has not had the courage to visit his school principal. Encouraged by Meimei, he cooks a dish and brings it to the school, only to find the principal has passed away. Story learns about Shaolong’s background from Meimei. She secretly arranges for Shaolong to meet with his friends at the orphanage. They tell him the principal had forgiven him and his last wish was to see him leading an honest life. A load is lifted off Shaolong’s mind. Meimei encourages him to reciprocate Story’s love. After much thinking, he meets with Story. He pulls down his pants to show the caning scars on his bottom. He confesses he was a convicted rapist and is not worthy of her love. Yingxiong celebrates Meimei’s birthday by cooking a meal for her. She exclaims that it is the best present she has ever received. Xiangfei wants to mend her relationship with Meimei. She buys her a birthday cake and is shocked to find her and Yingxiong behaving lovingly towards each other. | |||

| Xiangfei learns Meimei and Yingxiong are dating. Feeling betrayed, she runs away from home. Meimei gets upset. She refuses to continue her relationship with Yingxiong until she gets Xiangfei’s consent. Yingxiong meets with Xiangfei to try to talk her around. He asks if she is depriving her mother of happiness by being selfish. She does not answer. Jiguang tries to counsel Shaolong. When asked the situation with Story, he does not answer, and Jiguang pursues the issue. Shaolong eventually shares that Story found out about his criminal record and stopped seeing him. Meimei tells Story the reason why Shaolong went to prison. Shaolong feels inferior because of his past and does not have the courage to accept Story’s love. When Meimei asks Story if she is willing to help him overcome his fears, she hesitates. Yingcai pretends to befriend Jiguang, who shares that his parents were victims of a hit-and-run accident. He has been looking for the errant driver to avenge their deaths, but to no avail. Yingcai hires an investigator and manages to find the culprit, who is Jason. Yingcai takes Jiguang to see Jason. Jiguang flares up and almost beats Jason up, but Shaolong turns up and intervenes. Jason escapes. The next day, the police arrest Jiguang for attacking Jason, who is in coma. | |||

| Bail is posted for Jiguang. News reports of the assault are sensationalised on the Internet. Information on the private lives of the eatery’s other employees is also exposed, including Shaolong’s past. Meimei wonders if Yingcai is behind this. Yingxiong insists Yingcai would never do anything to harm him. Little doe they realise it was, indeed, Yingcai who hired gangsters to beat Jason up. He then pointed an accusing finger at Jiguang. The eatery’s business plummets. The unsold food is given out free. Despised, Shaolong and Jiguang decide to quit. Meimei rejects their resignations and forbids them from running away from their problems. She declares they will face the difficulties together as a family. Story decides to accept Shaolong. However, he chooses to avoid her. Meimei continues to introduce new dishes, while continuing the $1 meal promotion. Yingcai tips the reporters off again, releasing more inside information. Dexian is unhappy with the way Yingxiong handles the negative publicity. He suggests firing Jiguang and Shaolong to protect the eatery’s image, but Meimei and Yingxiong object. Afterwards, Yingcai deliberately discloses that Yingxiong and Meimei are dating. Dexian becomes anxious. Story expresses her feelings to Shaolong. He is uncertain, but she reassures him by kissing him. Touched, he accepts her. Dexian orders Meimei to leave Yingxiong, so as to preserve Yingxiong’s happiness. She is devastated. | |||

| Dexian delivers Meimei an ultimatum: break up with Yingxiong, or lose funding from the Angels’ Foundation for the eatery. After careful consideration, she yields. Yingxiong quarrels with Dexian and refuses to break up with Meimei. The eatery sinks into a deep financial crisis. Emphasising that the business is the fruit of everyone’s painstaking efforts, Yingxiong is willing to stay with Meimei to keep it going. Eva’s son, Leo (Fraser Tiong), wants to reunite with her but she keeps avoiding him, as she does not want to her son to endure the disgrace of having an ex-convict for a mother. George suggests Angel should enrol in a cooking school in France. Xiangfan develops the mistaken impression that George likes Angel, and his relationship with her sours. Leo learns Eva is working at the eatery. Noting his repeated attempts to reach out in filial piety, Meimei tries to talk Eva round. Yingxiong pawns the watch given to him by his father to pay part of the eatery staff’s salary. The staff do not want to add on to Meimei and Yingxiong’s financial burdens and contemplate quitting. During supper, the staff voice their intention to quit. Yingxiong panics, but Meimei consents. She announces that she is weary and will close the eatery. That meal is their last at the eatery. Meimei tries to gulp down her food but is unable to swallow. All too soon, she starts to cry. | |||

| Meimei is overwhelmed by a sense of defeat. Having failed to steer everyone into a better life, she becomes depressed and refuses to get out of bed. Yingxiong comes up with a new idea: lunch box deliveries, so that their staff need not meet customers and encounter discrimination. Yingxiong is in dire need of funds to start the business, and acts on Yingcai’s suggestion that he sell his shares in his father’s company. He does not realise Yingcai is waiting to buy up all his shares. Encouraged when the business picks up, Meimei pulls herself together. Leo keeps trying to persuade Eva to attend his wedding in Australia. To get him to give up, she pretends she has gambling debts and asks him for money. He is disappointed and declares they should not meet again. When alone, Eva sobs but is relieved Leo can forget about her. Meimei tells Eva that Leo spoke with her. He was aware Eva was lying and made the decision to respect her wishes. Filled with regret, Eva rushes to the airport to see him. They finally reconcile. Dexian interrogates Yingcai for taking over Yingxiong’s shares. Yingcai finally reveals that he acted out of revenge. He loathes Dexian’s infidelity and hates Yingxiong and his mother. Enraged, Dexian has a stroke. Yingxiong confronts Yingcai and beats him up. Pained at being betrayed by his brother, he cries in Meimei’s arms. | |||

| Meimei learns Yingxiong and Yingcai are paternal half-brothers. Yingxiong comes to realise Yingcai has merely faked concern for him through the years. Upon joining the CID, Xiangfan is given the task of investigating Jiguang’s assault case. Xiangfan and Angel quarrel over her trip to France with George. Meimei mediates and advises Xiangfan that if he loves Angel, he should let her go. Meimei visits Dexian in the hospital but is chased away by Yingxiong’s mother. Yingxiong is infuriated, but Meimei assures him that she is not upset. Yingcai assumes power and kicks Yingxiong’s mother out of the house. Yingxiong flares up and seeks Yingcai out. Over the phone, Meimei hears the drunk Yingxiong shouting that he is going to kill Yingcai. Afraid he will get into trouble, she rushes over. In the back alley behind a pub, Meimei finds Yingcai lying in a pool of blood, unconscious. Yingxiong is nowhere to be found. Xiangfan and the police arrive. Worried Yingxiong will be charged for assault, Meimei turns herself in. Xiangfan reprimands her severely. Realisation dawns on her, and Meimei tells them what she knows. Yingxiong’s mother accuses Meimei of turning Yingxiong in, thus forcing him to go into hiding. She is so overcome by emotion that her blood pressure spikes and she faints. Meimei remains at the hospital to look after Yingxiong’s mother and promises to take care of her until Yingxiong is found. Yingxiong is hiding in a small hotel. He sneaks into the hospital to see his mother but is discovered by Meimei. Xiangfan spots Yingxiong and gives chase. | |||

| Xiangfan chases Yingxiong to the hospital rooftop. Cornered, Yingxiong is at a loss and ashamed to have ruined his family’s reputation. Just then, the eatery staff arrive and try to coax him to turn himself in. Meimei vows to stand by him. At the police station, Yingxiong says he has no recollection of how he injured Yingcai. He himself lost consciousness during their brawl. Yingcai awakens, and accuses Yingxiong of attacking him. Knowing he will be charged and possibly jailed, Yingxiong tells Meimei to seek her own happiness. She insists she wants to wait for him, even if it takes the rest of her life. He is touched. Xiangfan discovers loopholes in Yingcai’s statements. He revisits the scene of the assault to look for new evidence and encounters a rag-and-bone man who witnessed the fight. Xiangfan pieces together the truth behind Jiguang’s assault. The police seek out Hu-ge for assistance. Feeling guilty, he runs away. Xiangfan is injured while attempting to stop him. Angel decides not to leave with George and to stay, instead, with Xiangfan. Unexpectedly, he encourages her to go after her dream. Investigations lead the police to confirm to that Hu-ge was the person who assaulted Yingcai. Yingxiong is cleared of all the charges. A celebration is held at the eatery. Although everyone is supportive of their relationship, Yingxiong and Meimei choose to remain good friends. Yingcai is sentenced to imprisonment. Meimei is finally accepted by Yingxiong’s parents, and the couple enters a new phase of life. Everyone at the eatery gets a well-deserved second chance at life. | |||
