Yuji Itadori is a high school student with incredible athleticism, who prefers his school's Occult Club over sports. Yuji is told by his dying grandfather, to help others and die surrounded by people, and his grandad dies shortly after. Meanwhile, Megumi Fushiguro, a student from Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical College, is tasked with searching for a "Cursed Object", a finger of Ryomen Sukuna, a powerful supernatural monster, known as a "Curse". Megumi tracks Yuji down, having sensed the finger's energy from him. The duo realize that Yuji's Occult Club colleagues have the finger, and intend to remove a protective seal on it. Doing so attracts Curses, which attack them. Megumi engages the Curses in battle, and Yuji, after recalling his grandfather's last words, joins him. As Megumi is overwhelmed by a Curse, Yuji eats the finger, in an attempt to save Megumi. This causes Yuji to be possessed by Sukuna, who easily destroys the Curse, but intends to go on a killing spree. Yuji easily suppresses Sukuna's possession, but Megumi declares that he has become a Curse, and prepares to exorcise him.

Yuji attempts to convince Megumi that he is in control, and Megumi hesitates. Megumi's teacher, Satoru Gojo, arrives, after hearing about Sukuna's finger. After learning Yuji ate the finger, Satoru has him give Sukuna control for a brief period. Declaring himself the strongest sorcerer, he easily handles Sukuna, until Yuji reassumes control. Satoru knocks out Yuji, but is asked by Megumi to spare him. Later, Satoru explains to Yuji that the Jujutsu elders want him executed, but he was able to suspend his death sentence. As Sukuna had 20 fingers, he plans to have Yuji eat all of them, which would allow for Sukuna to be permanently killed along with Yuji. The next day, Yuji collects his grandfather's ashes and eats another of Sukuna's fingers, given by Satoru, demonstrating his ability to control Sukuna. Satoru brings Yuji to Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical College, intending to train him there, pending an interview with the principal Masamichi Yaga. Yaga tests Yuji's resolve with his abilities, claiming his grandfather's dying wish to be insufficient motivation. Yuji realizes that he wishes to live without the regret of not stopping Sukuna, which results in him being accepted into the college.

Yuji, Megumi and Satoru pick up the third first-year student Nobara Kugisaki. Satoru brings them to an abandoned building near a cemetery that is occupied by Curses as a field test for Nobara. Yuji and Nobara enter the building and split up to search for the Curse. Yuji easily defeats a Curse downstairs while Nobara takes out another one upstairs, and discovers a boy hiding. Another Curse holds him hostage, and Nobara surrenders in an attempt to save him. Yuji is able to rescue Nobara and the boy by smashing through the wall behind it and cutting one of its arms off. As the Curse attempts to flee, Nobara finishes it off with her Straw Doll technique. A flashback reveals Nobara had a friend named Saori who was ostracized by the locals because she was from Tokyo before being driven away, convincing Nobara to enroll in the Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical College and move away from her town. As a reward for completing the test, Satoru takes them out to dinner. A month later, three sorcerers are dispatched to exorcise a Cursed Womb at a detention center in West Tokyo, leaving one dead.

Hideaki AbeHiroshi SekoOctober 24, 2020 (2020-10-24)
Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara investigate the appearance of a "womb". Kiyotaka Ijichi, the assistant director at Jujutsu High, informs Yuji that they believe that the womb could transform into a special-grade cursed spirit. The trio learns that they must investigate but not fight. Ijichi tells them that their only options are to run or die. The goal is to verify and rescue the survivors. As the trio enter the detention center, Ijichi creates a barrier to conceal them from the neighborhood. Once inside, the trio sees that the two-story dorm has changed into an infinite, chaotic wasteland and that the inmates, including Tadashi, are all brutally murdered. When one of Megumi's demon dogs are killed, he sends Nobara to investigate the place while he and Yuji confront the special-grade. Yuji's hand is torn off and he is bloodied by the cursed spirit, and plans to unleash Sukuna once Megumi and Nobara have found an exit. After they've escaped, Sukuna takes over and heals all of Yuji's wounds before easily defeating the special-grade, eating one of Sukuna's fingers that was powering it.

After retreating outside the juvenile detention center, Fushiguro notices the death of the special grade cursed spirit. Sukuna arrives and holds Yuji hostage by ripping his heart out, believing Yuji would not be so reckless as to try and take over. They fight for dominance but even with the help of his shikigami Megumi is overpowered. Megumi admits that he was selfish to save Yuji and that his will to save people that can't be saved came from a desire to "help people unequally" after seeing his sister fall into a coma from a cursed spirit. Yuji emerges, but quickly dies from blood loss. While in mourning, he and Nobara encounter second-years Maki Zenin, Toge Inumaki, and Panda (an anthropomorphic panda) who inform them that they will be taking place in the Kyoto Sister School Exchange Event together. Meanwhile, cursed spirits Dagon, Jogo, and Hanami meet with Geto, a human, plotting to get Yuji and Satoru on their side. While his body is examined by doctor Shoko Ieiri, an alive Yuji wakes up in Sukuna's domain.

Megumi meets with the mother of a deceased inmate from the special-grade curse womb, remarking that Yuji helped him to better see the light in other people. He and Nobara train with the second-years to get ready for the tournament, which is set to take place in a month and he inquires Maki to find ways that will make him stronger when fighting enemies. Sukuna tricks Yuji into making a deal with him that will let him take over at anytime, without killing or destruction, that is erased from Yuji's memory. Yuji awakens on Ieiri's table and reunites with Satoru and Ijichi. Satoru tells Ieiri to hold off on reporting Yuji's resuscitation and begins training Yuji by making him watch movies while having to keep his cursed energy flowing. Geto tells Jogo to use a special-grade cursed object called prison realm to subdue Satoru , but Jogo promises to kill him instead. Jogo ambushes Satoru while in transit to meet with the Jujutsu Tech principal.

Sung-hoo ParkHiroshi SekoNovember 14, 2020 (2020-11-14)
While in transit Satoru is suddenly attacked by the special grade cursed spirit Jogo. After launching several high-level explosive attacks that fail to hit, Satoru explains that he is manipulating the cursed energy around him into an "infinity" that slows down any attacks before they hit him. When Jogo continues to fail to land any damage, Satoru transports to Jujutsu Tech, picks up Yuji, and returns in the span of seconds to teach Yuji about domain expansions. Jogo's domain expansion—a completed version of what the curse-womb laid at the penitentiary—is destroyed when Satoru launches his own domain expansion, trapping Jogo in infinity and decapitating him. Before they can find out who Jogo is working for, Hanami arrives and uses his plant abilities to distract Yuji and Satoru before escaping with Jogo's head. Geto, Jogo, and Hanami go to a void where the cursed spirits are hiding out, among them the newly born Mahito. They plan on sealing Satoru and taking Yuji at a later date.

While training for the exchange event, Nobara and Megumi come face to face with Kyoto's Jujutsu Tech students they will be competing against in the upcoming exchange event— second-year Mai Zenin and third-year Aoi Todo—who challenge them to a fight. Todo, who believes Megumi is boring because he prefers a woman's personality over body, fights and batters him but Panda and Toge stop them. Mai threatens Nobara with a gun, part of her cursed technique, but her twin sister Maki stops her. Maki reveals to Nobara that she cannot see or use cursed energy, and has to rely on cursed weapons and glasses to fight; she joined Jujutsu Tech to rebel against her authoritarian family. Satoru meets with Kyoto's principal Yoshinobu Gakuganji and accuses him of purposefully sending the first-years to their deaths against the curse-womb. He also laments that other Tokyo Jujutsu sorcerers, including Geto and Yuta Okkotsu, are unable to attend the exchange event. Later, Mahito uses cursed energy to disfigure and kill three high school students at a movie theater and is approached by a teenage boy; Yuji and a blond-haired figure investigate.

Yoshino Junpei skips school to go to a movie theater, but then he witnesses the classmates who bullied him getting their faces transfigured and dying. He chases after the culprit, Mahito, and asks to be taught how to control cursed energy. Mahito teaches Junpei his sadist beliefs about human existence, as he himself was born from humans' fear and despair. Yuji and the ex-salaryman first-grade jujutsu sorcerer, Nanami Kento, storm into the scene of the crime within the theater and encounter two cursed spirits. A fight ensues where Yuji reveals his cursed technique, using cursed energy to tremendously amplify the power of his punches. Recognizing one of the "spirits" have a watch, Nanami deduces that the beings they are fighting are actually transfigured humans, which horrifies Yuji. Nanami sends Ijichi and Yuji into the Mahito's general vicinity, but actually knows exactly Mahito is. Yuji tracks Junpei down and plans to bait him with low-grade cursed spirits.

Mahito teaches his ideology to Junpei: being a cursed-spirit capable of changing the shape of a person's soul, he sees people as disposable, having no hearts but rather all being recycled from the same spirits that make their body. Junpei, happy at being told he can kill without feeling guilty about it, heads home but has a confrontation with his teacher. He is about to kill his teacher when Yuji and the low-grade curse interrupt them, and Yuji heads the teacher off and asks to walk Junpei home. Meanwhile in the sewer systems, Nanami confronts Mahito. Mahito sees Nanami, a first-grade sorcerer, as a perfect tool for his experiments. They fight, and in the process Nanami realizes that the transfigured humans Mahito makes are actually live and suffering, which angers him. Nanami hits overtime and begins to use his full power to fight Mahito.

Mahito corners Nanami but discovers that Nanami was purposefully limiting his cursed energy up until that moment. They fight once more but Nanami easily emerges victorious, and the walls of the sewer come down, crushing Mahito. Mahito survives because he was able to manipulate his own soul to save himself, and he believes himself invincible. Yuji and Junpei bond over a shared love for movies. Over dinner with Junpei's mother Nagi, Yuji tells Junpei that he doesn't want to kill because he feels it would taint him but he also feels guilty over that. Overnight, Nagi is killed when one of Sukuna's fingers, planted by Geto, attracts cursed spirits. Mahito convinces Junpei that one his school bullies Shota Ito arranged for Nagi's death, all in an effort to draw in Yuji and pair with Sukuna. Geto casts a barrier around the school. Junpei confronts Ito and uses his cursed energy technique to bring every single student to sleep. He uses his cursed energy to spread rash-marks through Ito's body, but Yuji arrives to confront Junpei before he can kill the other student.

Junpei fights Yuji using his cursed energy technique, Moon Dregs, creating a large shikigami that poisons whoever it touches. Feeling that saving human lives has become pointless and that the heart is redundant, Junpei angrily attacks but falls short when Yuji stops fighting even though he gets stabbed. Mahito arrives and Junpei realizes that he was the villain all along but not before Mahito uses his Idle Transfiguration to turn Junpei into a disfigured creature. Yuji asks for Sukuna's help to heal Junpei, but Sukuna laughs at him. Junpei begs Yuji to help him before dying. A furious Yuji attacks Mahito's body and soul simultaneously, causing the cursed spirit to bleed. Mahito overwhelms Yuji and impales him in multiple places. He tries to transfigure Yuji's body but Sukuna threatens to kill him if he does. Nanami arrives to the scene.

Nanami and Yuji attack gang up on Mahito relentlessly, but are unable to leave any permanent marks. Noticing Mahito's short pauses whenever he gathers cursed energy between attacks, the pair attack at the right moments and are able to batter Mahito with punches. Mahito, at the brink of defeat, unlocks his domain expansion and traps Nanami inside. Believing that he is about to die, Nanami reflects on the events that led to him rejoining Jujutsu Tech as a sorcerer. When he felt he had no will left to live working at a pointless job only for money, he one day helped a young bakery cashier by exorcising the curse that clung to her. Seeing her gratitude gave him purpose once more in his life, and inspired his will to help others instead of scamming them for a living. Yuji breaks through the domain expansion, as it is weaker on the outside than the inside. Mahito accidentally touches Sukuna, who punishes him by leaving him grievously injured. Mahito escapes into the sewers and reflects that he will continue to kill Yuji's soul if not his body. A distressed Yuji tells Nanami that he had to kill a person that day, and promises to never lose again while Nanami ponders how Yuji will never place his own needs above another's.

Jogo, who has regained usage of his body, joins Mahito and Geto in scheming their next move. Geto declares that attempting to pair with Sukuna is too dangerous and they will continue trying to find all of Sukuna's fingers, firstly by ambushing Tokyo Jujutsu Tech. The Kyoto Tech class arrives for the exchange event, and Yuji reveals his survival to his friends' shock. The event will consist of two rounds, the first being a competition between the two schools to see who can exorcise the most and highest-grade curses. The Tokyo students struggle to find a way to include Yuji in their plans, but Yuji promises that he can punch and he can kick. The Kyoto students, on orders of their principal Gakuganji, plot to kill Yuji but make it seem like an accident. Satoru reveals to the Kyoto students' teacher, Utahime Iori, that he suspects a traitor is in Tokyo Jujutsu Tech's midst as his ambush by Jogo.

Nobara wakes up and begins fighting Momo, using her Straw Doll Technique to disable Momo's broom and is about to knock her out with a toy hammer, until she is knocked out herself by a non-lethal round from Mai's revolver. Maki catches up to Mai with Kasumi's sword, as flashbacks reveal the suffering that the twin sisters went through in the Zenin clan: Maki, who left the clan but still sought to rule it, and Mai, who stayed in the clan and was forced to become a Jujutsu Sorcerer against her will in Maki's place. As Mai tries to use her trump card to create an extra bullet out of Cursed Energy, Maki catches it with her bare hand, revealing her own immense strength as a tradeoff for having very little Curse Energy power. With no energy left, Mai and Nobara are retired from the event.

After the battle, Nobara and Yuji reflect on having killed actual humans instead of just cursed spirits, then meet up with Megumi to collect another of Sukuna's fingers, when Sukuna suddenly opens up a mouth in Yuji's hand and eats the finger before he can react. Later, Satoru talks to Utahime about a possible traitor within the school, and sends a large payment to another sorceror named Mei.
