List of Schitt's Creek episodes
Schitt's Creek is a Canadian television sitcom that premiered on CBC Television on January 13, 2015.[1] The series was created by Eugene Levy and Dan Levy and produced by Not a Real Company Productions.[2] On January 12, 2015, CBC renewed the show for a second season,[3][4] which premiered January 12, 2016, and consisted of 13 episodes.[5][6][7] On February 17, 2016, the CBC announced that they renewed the show for a third season,[8] and began broadcasting the third season on January 10, 2017.[9] The fourth season began on January 9, 2018, in Canada[10] and January 24 on Pop TV in the United States.[11]
The series stars Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara as Johnny and Moira Rose, a wealthy couple who are forced, after losing all their money, to rebuild their lives in their only remaining asset: the small town of Schitt's Creek, which they once purchased as a joke, where they are living with their two adult children in two adjacent rooms of a rundown motel.[12] The cast also includes Dan Levy, Annie Murphy, Chris Elliott,[12] Jennifer Robertson and Emily Hampshire.
Over the course of the series, 80 episodes of Schitt's Creek aired in Canada and the United States. The final episode, airing April 7, 2020, received the highest ratings in the history of the program with 1.3 million viewers.[13]

| Johnny and Moira become worried that they have been bad parents and try to improve their relationships with David and Alexis. Johnny and Moira have trouble getting into the cabin, but eventually make it inside and have sex. | Moira receives a package from an old friend, which turns out to be a starter kit for a multi-level marketing cosmetics company. She and David host a party to sell the products, only to realize that all of the attendees are already involved in the company, as it had become popular in the town several years prior. Johnny decides to apply for unemployment, but needs to travel to a neighboring town. In order to get to the unemployment office he test drives a car that Bob is selling, only to have the car break down. He calls Roland, who takes him to the unemployment office, and also ends up helping secure Johnny's claim. | |||||||

| Johnny is asked to do the eulogy at the funeral of Bob's brother, who he never knew. Several relatives of the deceased arrive at the motel, much to David's disappointment. To avoid the unpleasant motel guests, Alexis stays at Ted's house, but is annoyed after seeing how he prioritizes his pets. Johnny decides to give the eulogy, but begins insulting the town, until Moira begins singing Danny Boy to drown out his negative speech. | Johnny and Moira beg to get invited to a party hosted by Jocelyn and Roland. They join in with the Schitt's marijuana smoking and both couples discuss their lives, with Johnny telling Roland that David is pansexual. Ted hosts a dinner party, and Alexis invites David, Stevie, Mutt, and Twyla under the pretense that it is a big party. A heated discussion begins around the table, with Ted suspicious of what Alexis and Mutt talk about during their days together doing community service; Twyla becomes annoyed that Mutt is confiding in Alexis but not her; and Stevie feigns being annoyed in order to escape the bad atmosphere of couple squabbling, taking David with her. | Moira's estranged younger sister, Didi, surprises the family with a visit. Johnny had previously lent her $50,000, and Moira is upset that Didi never repaid the loan. Didi attempts to repay her loan, but Moira refuses to accept it. Johnny is mad at Moira, as he feels she is too proud to accept the help from her sister. Moira accepts and asks Didi to repay some of her loan, but the amount she pays insults Johnny. Jocelyn asks David to discuss his difficulties understanding his sexuality with a high school student, but the student rejects all of David's advice. | Johnny wants to throw Moira a surprise birthday party, and enlists the help of his children. Alexis resists going because Ted will be out of town, but David guilts her into attending. David and Johnny request Roland's help to make it seem like Jocelyn is hosting a charity fundraiser, but Moira becomes obsessed with the fictitious charity and attempts to control it. Alexis requests that Mutt lets them use his barn for the event. David convinces Moira to participate by telling her about her surprise birthday party. | Johnny finds a potential buyer for the town, and prepares for his family to leave the town. Alexis plans to move to Los Angeles, and is surprised when Ted asks her to marry him, which she rejects. Johnny buys the mattress, but he and Moira remain grossed out by its history. Roland requests David's help in buying a blouse for Jocelyn, and the two disagree on what Roland should purchase. Alexis gets sick, and Moira tries to keep her distance despite Alexis needing help, before coming around to discover a tiny bit of parenting instinct. | After finding out that the raw milk of Bob's that he used in his coffee is expensive, Johnny decides to get into the raw milk business. They plan to try and sell the milk anyway with Roland's help, but get pulled over by cops who force them to dump the raw milk out because unpasteurized milk is illegal. Moira crafts an elaborate and bizarre backstory in a Cockney accent but they actually receive a discount because the car dealers recognise the Moira's plotline and are fans of her former TV soap opera. Stevie's Great-aunt Maureen dies, David is supportive and also assures Stevie that her concerns about becoming like her Great-aunt are unfounded. Moira is initially reluctant but when she learns Twyla has virtually no guests she sets about finding more, and helps makes it a success, while not actually attending herself. | Moira and Roland attend an overnight council event, Moira enjoys being popular and is persuaded to join the after-drinks celebration. Roland is in the bed naked except for socks, and proceeds to make much fun of the situation as if it were something more, which embaresses Moira, and Johnny, who knows Moira is repulsed by Roland, but upsets Jocelyn as she believes everyone finds Roland as attractive as she does. | The oversized Rose family portrait, the one item from their opulent previous life not taken by the bailiffs, is delivered to their motel room from former friends who had rescued it, but Johnny and Moira have trouble trying finding a location for the extremely large painting. Against Patrick's suggestion, David launches a 'soft opening' for their new store but word of a discount gets round and there are long queues outside, which worries David but the event is a big success. Alexis and Ted kiss when she excitedly learns she has passed her graduation exams, but Ted backs away when she tries to kiss him again and they both agree it would be a bad idea. In the end the family throw away the formal painting of themselves, with Johnny remarking that it no longer represents who they are. | |||||||

| Johnny and Stevie celebrate the motel being fully booked. Alexis tells Ted of her decision to give up working at his vet surgery to pursue something more suited to her, and that she's also realised there are people actually qualified and who like touching animals, unlike her. Ted initially tries to dissuade her, but they agree it's for the best and will still be friends. Alexis also tells her family she does not want them attending her graduation that evening, although as Moira later helps her get ready we see Alexis is changing her mind, but Moira says she is now busy with another event. Ted however turns up to the graduation, which pleases Alexis, then Jocelyn announces a special closing ceremony performance and the curtains draw to reveal the Jazzagals, with Moira singing the lead, which makes Alexis very happy. Meanwhile, it is also David's birthday, as he mentions this and how he has no plans, Patrick suggests meeting later at the cafe. Stevie also shows up, having been invited by David, but she quickly realises Patrick had intended the evening as a date, so when Patrick is out of ear-shot she tells the unknowing David, and leaves them to be alone together. When Patrick drops David at the motel, David initiates a kiss and Patrick responds, then reveals that he has never kissed a man before, and needs to take things slowly, but he's happy. The show ends in Alexis and David's motel room, with Johnny and Moira dotingly serenading their slightly embarrassed offspring and presenting a hastily found cake in honor of both Alexis' graduation and David's birthday. | |||||||

After the barbecue trauma with Patrick, David is miserably maudlin in his Motel bed, until a concerned Stevie literally drags him away to a spa break to take his mind off his relationship worries. However, as Stevie used her and Jake's ploy of getting a better deal by claiming the booking is for newly-weds, they receive a full-blown Honeymoon package including public applause in the restaurant, which only reminds David more. During a late night conversation David and Stevie reveal that the other is their first real best friend. Moira chides Johnny for forgetting they were to meet up in the Cafe and he resolves to spend more time with his wife, later turning up to collect her from a Jazzagals rehearsal. Moira is keen for them to quickly leave but the other Jazzagals encourage him to join in, they love his singing and afterwards all go for Jazzagal drinks in the Cafe. Everyone is pleased except Moira, who later explains to Johnny that the vocal group is one of her few social pleasures, and she doesn't want to have less by combining them. | Alexis proudly prints out her new online degree certificate, but the family notice a spelling error. Patrick has been sending apology gifts, which David enjoyed so much he let carry on for a few days, but he tells Steve he is now ready to go be reconciled and goes to see Patrick at their shop. From the lack of response to his presents, Patrick had assumed David was not interested and is upset to hear the real, greedy, reason for his delay, telling David it's now his turn to offer an 'olive branch or two'. Alexis starts a marketing company and pitches a singles' night event to Moira, who is dismissive but accidentally suggests it to the town council who enthusiastically embrace the idea. Johnny shows his appreciation for Stevie with a extravagantly large make-up box, but she worries it means that there's something amiss with her looks and speaks to Alexis, who explains that Johnny means well but is inept at gift choosing. Stevie deliberately wears the loudest clashing colours of make-up for her shift at the Motel, Johnny realises she is isn't thrilled with the present and Steve explains while she appreciates the thought, they don't need gifts to express their mutual appreciation in future. In the closing scene Patrick returns to the store and suggests that David treat him to dinner as part of his compensation. Instead, David sits Patrick in a chair and then lip syncs Tina Turner's "Simply the Best" while gyrating around the store, which makes Patrick smile. | ||||||

| A visibly stressed Jocelyn talks a reluctant David into organising her baby shower party, luckily Patrick has practical advice. Alexis is surprised when old friend Klair appears in the cafe, passing through town with her entourage, Albany, Jitney, and Candy, on a tour of 'random cities of North America'. They meet again outside the Motel, Alexis pretends not to be living there while Klair offers her a junior PR job, far from Schitt's Creek, though she has to fire Albany first, and insists Alexis join them at the town bar that evening. Later Alexis looks at Klair's business card and then thoughtfully around the empty Motel room, before finding a delivery on the doorstep of her own PR company cards. Alexis meets the group at the bar and tells Klair she is declining her job offer, though the self-obsessed Klair has already forgotten and is too busy bullying her supposed friend Albany on her birthday. | Johnny is keen to elevate the Motel with new accessories, but concerned that products supplied by Rose Apothecary are causing skin rashes. Mutt returns for the birth of his sibling, and volunteers the use of his barn to Alexis as location for a singles week event. He warns it needs a lot of clean-up work as the friend he asked to look after the place - Alexis - apparently forgot. Alexis stays to help, annoyed by a sudden rainstorm outside as it could hamper the many other things she needs to do. Mutt opens a bottle of 'Cone wine' to share, tells her the pine-cone picking trip was a disaster and he broke up with Tennessee. He leans in for a kiss but Alexis tells him things have changed for her, then asks if being honest with Tennessee had helped which Mutt confirms. Alexis thanks him for the talk but she has to leave as there's something she must do. Alexis goes to Ted's clinic and finds him talking to the puppies, she asks him to listen and tells him that she's been very busy yet unable to focus, as she loves him. She knows he's with Heather but just needed to tell him how she felt. Ted tells her he doesn't know what to say, Alexis suggests she take one of the puppies home, they agree that isn't a good idea and she exits leaving Ted stunned. Moira initially tries to avoid jury duty but then wants to partake as the case resonates with the Rose's experience; the judge learns of her bias and dismisses both her and Jocelyn, who had been desperate to be on a jury. Roland makes the connection that it was actually the 'Poison Oak' flowers which Johnny unknowingly used to decorate the motel, causing the rash - and not the products from David's store. | ||||||

| As Singles Week gets underway, Jocelyn goes into labor but Roland is out of contact on an errand for the motel so Moira, having gone over to pick up items for the singles event, accompanies Jocelyn, who drives them to the hospital as Moira is too nervous. Patrick tells David that he loves him, but can wait for David to feel ready to return the compliment. Alexis gets David to deliver a box to Ted's clinic, keen to avoid doing it herself. David is also reluctant, wary of possible awkwardness and tries to leave quietly but Ted appears and they chat. Ted reveals he broke up with Heather after Alexis told him she was in love with him. David returns to the store, kisses Patrick and tells him that he loves him too. Moira had been determined to open the singles week event, fearing Alexis incapable, but is waylaid at the hospital and with a crowd of participants impatient for the event to begin, Alexis has to stand in. She makes a success of it, despite being without the props for the planned first game and having to improvise. Roland arrives at the hospital, Moira makes it to the event where she's surprised to see how well Alexis has handled it, apologises for doubting her then tells her to go join in the musical chairs matchmaking game. Ted arrives just in time to sit opposite Alexis and initiates a kiss. The room full of singles applauds, including Twyla sat next to them, she then has to dismiss an unwanted advance from her singles partner who tries to copy Ted. At the hospital, the Schitts proudly tell Moira and Johnny that their baby will be called Roland Moira Schitt, the middle name in Moira's honor, which amuses Johnny. | ||||||

| Christmas Eve, Johnny is dreaming of former lavish Rose family Christmas soirées; their large opulent home filled with glamorous guests, luxury decorations and giant Christmas tree. Moira and David are finishing an up-tempo duet of Silent Night, Moira dedicates the next song to her husband and the adoring crowd chant Johnny's name, as he wakes. Since re-locating to Schitt's Creek the other Roses have been too depressed and 'in shock' to celebrate Christmas but Johnny is determined that their third year in the motel will be different. He sets about organising a last minute party, designating tasks to an apathetic family and trying to instil festive spirit. Johnny and Moira go to buy a tree, Ray is running the outlet with an odd policy of extortionately increasing prices as the trees get fewer and of less quality, but Moira tells him what they will pay for the weakly specimen they find. David has been put in charge of decorations but is reluctant to use his shop's stock as he wants to make money to buy a staff espresso machine, so Stevie brings Nana Bud's old box of seasonal trinkets, which she admits are bad. Ted arrives with a gift of homemade gingerbread, but it's to compensate for him and Alexis going to his friend's party, which Alexis hasn't informed her family of. Stevie tries to distract from the tension by offering everyone red wine. Johnny ceremonially unties the tree but most of the branches fall off. It's the final straw for Johnny who declares it was a really stupid idea and he's going to the Cafe to eat meatloaf. He has another memory of past Christmas: when the party ended he would be stood staring at the beautiful tree but always feeling alone as the kids had gone to do their own thing and Moira would go to bed; not the family Christmas he dreamed of. Moira arrives at the Cafe, apologising for earlier, and leads Johnny home. As they see the motel it's decked in fairylights, Moira exclaims 'It appears there's been a Christmas miracle John'. As they step inside, their waiting family and friends shout 'Merry Christmas!' as Jingle Bells plays. The tree has been super-glued together, David has provided the fancy decorations from his shop and Alexis and Ted have stayed. The Jazzagals sing Silent Night, David notices Stevie wipe away a tear as she watches them, but she tells him she's crying as the red wine has run out. | ||||||

| Stevie's planned bachelor party has a part for both David and Patrick: somewhat elegant cocktails for the former and an escape room in Elmdale for the latter. The escape room is Galapagos-themed, much to the delight of Alexis who is missing Ted. During the escape room, Johnny reveals to his family that there is a possible investor for the Rosebud motel chains which would mean a lot of money for the family, but his phone is outside of the escape room. Alexis surprises everyone when she solves the final clue singlehandedly and the family wins the escape room and on Johnny's phone the investor leaves a voicemail asking for a meeting. | Johnny, Stevie, and Roland head to New York for their pitch meeting, and the family anxiously awaits their return. When they arrive they learn that Johnny's former assistant, who is their investor, is unable to make the meeting. Meanwhile, in Schitt's Creek, Moira starts packing to leave and Alexis starts looking for New York apartment rentals, which is a little premature because the meeting does not go smoothly at all as technology fails and Roland knocks over some water. David tells Patrick of the family's plan to move to New York and Patrick is not excited about the idea. Johnny, Stevie and Roland bring their presentation around despite their shaky start, but Roland overhears the investors making fun of Johnny and tells them off. The firm decides not to invest in Johnny's idea but a few of the people in the boardroom are planning to defect and start their own firm and want to back the Rosebud motel. | |||||||

| Jocelyn gives Moira the news that Sunrise Bay is greenlit for a reboot, seemingly without her. Stevie lets it slip to David that Patrick has been looking for a house for the two of them. Twyla reveals that, just after the Roses arrived, she won 46 million dollars in the lottery and works in the cafe just for fun. Sunrise Bay unexpectedly gives in to Moira's insane demands and she is set to be on the show again. Moira attends her last practice with the Jazzagals and even Ronnie cries. Twyla buys the café with her lottery money because it makes her smile and gives a large check to Alexis who declines to take it. Stevie and David have a heart-to-heart at the would-be-house of David and Patrick. David reveals that he is staying in Schitt’s Creek while Johnny and Moira head to California and Alexis heads to New York alone. | |||||||
