List of current champions in Impact Wrestling

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Impact Wrestling is an American professional wrestling promotion based in Nashville, Tennessee. Title reigns are either determined by professional wrestling matches or are awarded to a wrestler as a result of the culmination of various scripted storylines. There are two active singles championships and one active tag team championship for (primarily) male wrestlers, a singles and tag team championship specifically for female wrestlers, and an intergender tertiary championship.

Eight wrestlers currently hold the championships. The list includes the number of times the wrestler has held the title, the date and location of the win, and a description of the winning bout. The following is correct as of December 31, 2021.[1]

Overview

Men

At the top of Impact championship hierarchy is the Impact World Championship. The championship is currently held by first time title holder Moose, who invoked his Call Your Shot Gauntlet privilege to defeat Josh Alexander (who had just defeated Christian Cage to win the title minutes earlier) on October 23, 2021, at Bound for Glory.

The secondary title is the Impact X Division Championship. Trey Miguel is the current champion in his first reign. He defeated Steve Maclin and El Phantasmo in a Triple Threat match On October 23, 2021,at Bound for Glory to win the vacant title.

The Impact World Tag Team Championship is currently held by two-time champions The Good Brothers (Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson), who defeated former champions Violent By Design (represented by Rhino and Joe Doering), Rich Swann and Willie Mack, and Fallah Bahh and No Way in a Fatal four-way match on July 17, 2021, at Slammiversary when Anderson pinned Rhino to win the match and the titles.

A wrestler who has held the World, X Division, and Tag Team Championships is recognized to have won the Impact Wrestling Triple Crown. If any winner of the Triple Crown has also won either the TNA Television Championship or the Impact Grand Championship (both defunct), they are also recognized to have won the Impact Wrestling Grand Slam.

Women

The top singles championship specifically contested for female wrestlers - promoted as the Knockouts division - is the Impact Knockouts Championship, which is currently held by four-time title holder Mickie James, who defeated Deonna Purrazzo on October 23, 2021, at Bound for Glory.

The top championship for female tag teams is the Impact Knockouts Tag Team Championship, which is held by first time champions The IInspiration (Jessica McKay and Cassie Lee), who defeated Decay (Havok and Rosemary) on October 23, 2021, at Bound for Glory to win the titles

The Impact Digital Media Championship is a tertiary championship that is intergender, and will be primarily defended on Impact's online platforms. Jordynne Grace is the inaugural champion after defeating Chelsea Green, Crazzy Steve, Fallah Bahh, John Skyler, and Madison Rayne in a tournament final intergender six-way match to become the inaugural champion.[2]

A female wrestler who has held the Knockouts, Knockouts Tag Team and (intergender) Digital Media Championships is considered to have won the Knockouts Triple Crown.[3]
