List of endemic birds of Taiwan

Endemic Bird Areas[]
Birdlife International has defined the whole of Taiwan as an Endemic Bird Area (EBA 149).
In addition, Orchid Island (Lán Yǔ), c. 75 km off the south-east coast of Taiwan has been designated as a secondary area, as two restricted-range species (Taiwan green pigeon and ) occur there.

The following is a list of species endemic to Taiwan:

- Taiwan bamboo partridge
- Swinhoe's pheasant
- Mikado pheasant
- Taiwan barbet (Psilopogon nuchalis)
- Taiwan bush warbler (Locustella alishanensis)
- Taiwan cupwing (Pnoepyga formosana)
- Styan's bulbul
- Taiwan fulvetta (Fulvetta formosana)
- Streak-breasted scimitar babbler (Pomatorhinus musicus)
- Black-necklaced scimitar babbler (Erythrogenys erythrocnemis)
- White-whiskered laughingthrush (Garrulax morrisonianus)
- Taiwan hwamei (Garrulax taewanus)
- Rufous-crowned laughingthrush (Garrulax ruficeps)
- Rusty laughingthrush (Garrulax poecilorhynchus)
- Steere's liocichla
- Taiwan barwing
- White-eared sibia
- Taiwan yuhina
- Taiwan bush-warbler
- Flamecrest
- Yellow tit
- Chestnut-bellied tit
- Taiwan blue magpie
- Taiwan thrush (Turdus niveiceps)
- Taiwan vivid niltava (Niltava vivida)
- Taiwan shortwing (Brachypteryx goodfellowi)
- Collared bush robin
- Taiwan thrush
- Taiwan whistling thrush
Also, the Taiwan green pigeon, although not endemic to Taiwan is a restricted-range species.
In addition the following subspecies may be better treated as full species, according to Collar (2004):
- Brownish-flanked bush warbler (Cettia fortipes robustipes)
