Powerwolf is a German power metal band from Saarbrücken, formed in 2003 by David Vogt and Benjamin Buss (stage names Charles and Matthew Greywolf, respectively). The group uses dark themes and images, musically and lyrically, contrary to traditional power metal music, as well as corpse paint, gothic-tinged compositions and songs about Transylvanian werewolf and vampire legends.
The band currently consists of a vocalist Attila Dorn (real name Karsten Brill), guitarist Matthew Greywolf (real name Benjamin Buss), guitarist/bassist Charles Greywolf (real name David Vogt), keyboardist Falk Maria Schlegel (real name Christian Jost) and a drummer Roel van Helden. Its former members are Stéfane Funèbre (real name Stefan Gemballa) and Tom Diener.
All of Powerwolf's songs are written by the entire band.[1][2]
