"Listen to Your Heart" is a song written by Stock Aitken Waterman for Sonia's debut studio album Everybody Knows (1990).[1] The single was released in November 1989 as the album's third single. This single reached No. 10 in UK[2] and No. 22 in Ireland.[3]

Chart performance[]

"Listen to Your Heart" entered the UK singles chart in early December 1989 at number 42.[2] After a slow start, the song peaked at number 10 five weeks later.[2] "Listen to Your Heart" became Sonia's second UK top ten hit, after her debut single "You'll Never Stop Me Loving You", which reached the top of the UK chart.[2] "Listen to Your Heart" charted in the United Kingdom for ten weeks.[2]

The B-side was Sonia's version of "Better Than Ever" which was originally recorded by Lisa Fabien and was not included on the original release of her debut album.

In Ireland, the song debuted and peaked on 4 January 1990 at number 22.[3] It charted for only one week.[3]

In France, "Listen to Your Heart" entered the charts on 3 March 1990 at number 46 and reached peak position of number 39 three weeks later.[4] The song charted for six weeks there.[4]

In Australia, "Listen to Your Heart" debuted at number 157 in February 1990 and peaked at number 119 in March 1990, spending nine weeks on the chart.[5]
