Lois Esther North (née Hiester, born November 23, 1921) is an American former politician in the state of Washington. North served in the Washington House of Representatives and Washington State Senate as a Republican from the 44th District. She attended the University of California, Berkeley and Columbia University, and is a former teacher.[1][2] She was elected to the King County Council in 1979, serving three terms. North also served on the 1996-97 King County Charter Review Commission.[3]
