Both trains are hauled by a Kalyan Loco Shed-based WDP-4D or [clarification needed] diesel locomotive from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to Guntakal and from Guntakal it is hauled by an -based WDP-4 or WAP-7 electric locomotive up til Chennai.
