Lona (mythology)

Lona is a goddess of the Moon

In Hawaiian mythology, Lona is a female lunar deity who fell in love with and married a mortal, ʻAikanaka. They lived happily together until ʻAikanaka died of old age.[1][2]

Lona and other deities[]

It is likely that Lona is another name for the Moon goddess Hina.[3]

A Hawaiian god with the similar name is Lono.
