"Loti" (Albanian pronunciation: [lɔˈti]; transl. Tear) is a song by Albanian singer and songwriter Elvana Gjata released as a single on 10 June 2021 by Loudcom Media under exclusive license from East Music Matters (EMM). It was composed and written by Gjata herself, while being produced and arranged by German producers Jumpa and Lex Barkey, respectively. The Albanian-language urban song lyrically talks about the loss of a loved one.

Background and composition[]

Released in June 2021, "Loti" was composed and written by Gjata herself.[1] German producers Jumpa and Lex Barkey were credited for producing and arranging the song, respectively.[1] Gjata had previously announced the single's title through a posting on her social media in March 2021, prior to the premiere of her third extended play Çelu.[2] Critical commentary noted the song as an "impressive" urban track.[3] Lyrically, the Albanian-language song talks about the loss of a loved one.[4]

Release and music video[]

With a length of two minutes and 55 seconds, Loudcom Media under exclusive license from East Music Matters (EMM) made "Loti" available for digital download and streaming in various countries on 11 June 2021.[5] An accompanying music video for the song was filmed at Divjakë-Karavasta National Park in western Albania.[6] It was uploaded to Gjata's official YouTube channel on 10 June 2021 at 23:59 (CET), preceded by a teaser released the day before on her social media.[7][8][9] The video was directed by Albanian content creator Flicka Elisa and visual designer Vasjen Katro, with both of them acting as the director of photography.[7][10] Katro and Albanian producer Borin Leka were also credited as the video's editors.[7]
