Louis C. Schmitt Jr. is an American attorney and politician serving as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from the 79th district. Elected in November 2018, he assumed office on December 1, 2018.

Early life and education[]

Schmitt was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Altoona Area High School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and history from Saint Francis University in 1984 and a Juris Doctor from the Franklin Pierce Law Center in 1987.[1][2]

Career[]

From 1993 to 2018, Schmitt was a law partner at McIntyre, Hartye, Schmitt and Sosnowski. He is also the founder of ADR Solutions, a dispute resolution and mediation firm. He is also the founder of the Center for Divorce and Dispute Resolution. He has also worked as a basketball analyst for 247Sports.com.[3] He was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in November 2018 and assumed office on December 1, 2018. He also served as secretary of the House State Government Committee and chair of the House Transportation Subcommittee on Railroads.[4]
