Louisville Emergency Medical Services (LEMS) was the primary advanced life support provider within the corporate limits of Louisville, Kentucky from 1972 to 1995. The integration of LEMS into the Louisville Division of Fire as its EMS Bureau in 1995 brought about the end of LEMS as a separate and distinct entity.
In 2005 the EMS Bureau was withdrawn from the fire department and merged with the surrounding Jefferson County EMS and became Louisville Metro EMS.
