Love Is Not Perfect (Italian: L'amore è imperfetto) is a 2012 Italian romance film written and directed by Francesca Muci in her directorial debut, and starring Anna Foglietta and Giulio Berruti. The screenplay is based on the 2012 Italian novel of the same name, written by Francesca Muci.[3][4][5]
Produced by Tilde Corsi and Gianni Romoli, Love Is Not Perfect premiered in Italy on 29 November 2012.[6]

Plot[]
Thirty-five year old Elena works for a publishing house. She has chosen to live as a single woman after her long-lasting but unsatisfying relationship with Marco, a free-lance photographer, ended when she discovered him flirting with another man in a restaurant.
After a minor accident on a scooter she meets Adriana, a seductive young woman, and Ettore, an older man. Attracted to Adriana's unpredictability, which offers excitement and passion, and Ettore's calmness, which provides stability and security, Elena finds herself torn between the two and enters into a relationship with both in pursuit of love.

Directed in 2012 by Francesca Muci and based on her novel by the same title, L'amore è imperfetto [Love is imperfect] is the other film in which the theme of female homosexuality is presented with a certain courage. Elena, the protagonist, is a beautiful woman in her mid thirties who, after having had an unfortunate relationship with a man with whom she had a child but also many disappointments and that she left with the certainty that love is only an illusion, suddenly flourishes when almost simultaneously she meets both a charming middle-aged man who makes her rediscover the power of passion and an eighteen years old girl who helps her to discover hidden in herself a bisexual soul ready to start a lesbian relationship in all effects. Although not entirely successful in all its components, L'amore è imperfetto, however, has the merit of presenting a situation of a certain unconventionality of a woman capable of going against the rigid bourgeois norm of Italian society to pursue happiness at the cost of clashing with respectability prevailing everywhere.
