Luke Thompson (born 4 July 1988)[1] is an English actor. He made his debut in theatre, earning Evening Standard and Ian Charleson Award nominations. His television roles include Benedict Bridgerton in the Netflix period drama Bridgerton and Simon in the BBC One series In The Club.
Early life and education[]
Thompson was born in Southampton and raised outside of Paris. His father was an engineer at Disneyland Paris and his mother was a teacher.[2] He speaks fluent French.[3] He attended international school at the Anglophone Section in Fontainebleau from 1997 to 2005.[4]
Upon returning to England, Thompson spent a year with the Year Out Drama Company in Stratford-upon-Avon.[5] He studied English and Drama at the University of Bristol and trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, graduating in 2013.[6][7]
