Maaemo is a Norwegian Restaurant located in Schweigaardsgate in Oslo, Norway. In March 2012 it was awarded two stars in the Michelin Guide, the first time a Nordic restaurant has been awarded two stars in its first mention in the guide.[1] The restaurant is run by Danish Head Chef,

In February 2016 it was awarded three stars, at the same time as the Danish restaurant Geranium, the first Nordic restaurants given three stars.[citation needed] Maaemo focuses on local food and only uses organic, biodynamic, or wild produce.[citation needed]

In June 2016, Maaemo was voted 61st best restaurant in the world at The World's 50 Best Restaurants awards. [2] In 2018, it was placed 35th.[3] In December 2019, the restaurant closed to move to another location. This resulted in the loss of all of its three Michelin stars in February 2020. In September 2021 Maemo won back the three stars.
