Mada is a regionally important language in Nasarawa and southern Kaduna States of Middle Belt, Nigeria, with many dialects. It is a highly tonal language. A translation of the New Testament into the language was finished in 1999.[2] Nunku is apparently a dialect of Mada rather than of Gbantu.they are the second most populated tribe in nasarawa state .mostly populating akwanga and kokona LG.they are old settlers in middle belt being part of nok civilization proved by dug artifacts in their land and having slight similarities with the ham tribe.their closest friend and rival are the eggon ,marrying each other the most while still competing who become governor first amongst the two biggest tribes of the state.their closest relative are ninzo tribe hearing each other well, with also rindre ,numana,nunku are argued to be distant dialect of mada tribe.their seat power is at akwanga with Samson gamu yare as the third chun mada but the first government recognized and installed according constitution.
