Maine State Music Theatre

The Maine State Music Theatre (MSMT) is a performing arts organization based in Brunswick, Maine, United States. MSMT presents a summer season of four fully staged musicals, several children's musicals, and related special events.

MSMT was founded in 1959 by Victoria Crandall as the Brunswick Music Theatre.[1] The theatre became a non-profit in 1970 focusing on developing an internship program In 1988, the organization changes its name Maine State Music Theatre to reflect a patronage which had grown beyond the mid-coast region of Maine.

In later years, MSMT moved to the Gorham Campus of the University of Southern Maine. The Maine Line Bus Garage at 22 Elm Street, was renovated, becoming theater space, the administrative offices and the technical and rehearsal space.
