Maisy Mouse

Maisy Mouse is a fictional mouse from the picture book series created by British illustrator Lucy Cousins. A two season animated television series, based on the books, was produced in 1999 and 2000.[1]

Animated series[]

Maisy was adapted into an animated series developed by the English studio King Rollo Films and broadcast on CITV. The series lasted for two seasons, from 1999 to 2000, divided up into segments. An additional episode was broadcast in 2008, separate from the original two seasons.[1]

Main characters[]

  • Maisy – A white 4-year-old mouse who lives in an orange house with a red roof. Her birthday is 10 February.
  • Panda – Maisy's little stuffed toy giant panda companion.
  • Tallulah – A yellow 4-year-old chick who almost always seen wearing a dress and a bow on her head. Her birthday is 4 July.
  • Cyril – A brown 6-year-old squirrel who wears a bowtie. His birthday is 7 March.
  • Charley – A green 8-year-old crocodile who loves to eat. His birthday is 5 February.
  • Eddie – A grey 9-year-old elephant who is often in settings where he is too big to participate as he is often depicted as being almost animalistic rather than anthropomorphic in appearance. His birthday is 2 November.

Minor characters[]

  • Dotty – a 5-year-old donkey that Maisy is friends with at preschool.
  • Mr. Peacock – a peafowl, and the teacher of the nursery which Maisy goes to.
  • Olly Ostrich – an ostrich that sometimes appears in the stories.
  • Ella – a 5-year-old koala friend of Maisy's who lives in Australia.
