Mammal Club were an English three piece band based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England. The band consisted of Will Astley (Guitar/Lead Vocals), Adam Hiles (Guitar) and Colin Liddle (Drums). Founded by ex members of Yourcodenameis:milo and The Eyejab, the band developed a large following in their local area and performed well received support slots for Everything Everything and Little Comets, along with festival shows at , , and Evolution Festival.[1]
The band's debut release, The Au EP, was recorded in their lock up located in a secret location within Newcastle.[2] Going beyond a simple rehearsal area, this space has also been used by the band to record video sessions of their tracks, as well as hosting intimate gigs the band occasionally organised.[3]
On 15 August 2012, the band announced through a blog post that they had decided to end Mammal Club, citing dissatisfaction towards the music scene.[4]
