Mamqan (Persian: ممقان; also Romanized as Mamqān and Mamaqān; also known as Māmāgān) [2] is a city and capital of Mamqan District, in Azarshahr County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2016 census, its population was 11,892, in 3,937 families, all Azerbaijanis.Mamqan is the largest producer of chickpeas in the world.
