Marc Henry Dalton[1][2] (born April 5, 1965)[3][4] is a retired United States Navy rear admiral who last served as the Director of Assessment of the U.S. Navy. Previously, he was Director of Maritime Operations for the United States Pacific Fleet.[5][6][7][8]

Born in Los Angeles County, California,[3] Dalton is a 1987 graduate of the United States Naval Academy with a B.S. degree in systems engineering. He later earned a Master of Public Administration degree from the Kennedy School at Harvard University.[1][2][5]

Dalton is the son of Henry Frederick "Hank" Dalton (born 1939) and Penny Pangborn Dalton. His father is a 1963 graduate of the Naval Academy who retired as a captain after 30 years of service and later became a city councilman in Louisville, Colorado.[2][3][9][10][11] Dalton married Shawn Ella Clark on March 31, 1990 in Polk County, Florida. Their son Chase Dalton is 2014 graduate of the Naval Academy.[11][12]
