Marin Tufan (born 16 October 1942) is a Romanian former football player who played as a striker, spending most of his career playing for Farul Constanța.[1][3]

Club career[]

Tufan spent most of his career at Farul Constanța, appearing in 230 Divizia A matches, also being the all-time Divizia A top goalscorer of Farul Constanța with 62 goals.[4][5]

International career[]

Tufan played two games for Romania making his debut on 14 May 1969 under coach Angelo Niculescu in a 1–0 away victory against Switzerland at the 1970 World Cup qualifiers.[6][7] His second game for the national team was a 1–1 against Yugoslavia.[6]

Tufan was part of Romania's squad at the 1970 FIFA World Cup and for the participation in that tournament he was decorated by President of Romania Traian Băsescu on 25 March 2008 with the Ordinul "Meritul Sportiv" – (The Medal "The Sportive Merit") class III.[8][9]
