Marinus Adrianus Koekkoek or Marinus Adrianus Koekkoek the elder (25 September 1807 – 28 January 1868) was a 19th-century Dutch landscape painter.
Koekkoek was born in Middelburg as the son of Johannes Hermanus Koekkoek and was the brother of Barend Cornelis and Hermanus.[1] His was the first teacher of his son Hendrik Pieter Koekkoek, who carried on his family's traditional style of romantic landscape painting.
Koekkoek worked mostly in Hilversum and Amsterdam, where he later died.[1]
