Mark Brunetz

Mark Brunetz (born August 14, 1963) is an American television host, interior designer and author. He has hosted the programs "Clean House" and "Clean House: The Messiest Home in the Country" and "Clean House Comes Clean" for which he produced on the Style Network.[1]

Biography[]

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Brunetz received a Bachelor's degree in Biology Pre-Med. at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC and Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology where his first professional post was as staff Exercise Physiologist for the Jane Fonda Workout in Beverly Hills, CA. Brunetz went on to create and co-star in two of Fonda's exercise videos, 'Lower Body Solution' and 'Step Aerobics & Abdominal Workout' which grossed over 90 million dollars worldwide. He also produced lifestyle products for Sheena Easton, Florence Griffith-Joyner, Kathy Smith and Kim Alexis while serving as the National Vice-Chair for Workout for Hope for the City of Hope in Duarte, CA.

In 1994, Brunetz co-founded Fortis Films with actress and producer Sandra Bullock, developing several projects including Hope Floats for 20th Century Fox, Practical Magic for Warner Bros. Pictures and George Lopez for ABC Television.

n 1999, Mark kickstarted his design career working in special events at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. With a focus on designing signature events for product launches such as Blue from American Express and Dodge Dakota for DaimlerChrysler, Mark’s work was recognized as a National Finalist at the 14th Annual Special Events Awards Gala that same year.

In 2000, Mark launched Mark Brunetz Interior Design Mark Brunetz Interior Design, a residential and commercial design design company based in Los Angeles. Over the course of two plus decades, Company projects have ranged from a 6,000 sq. ft. architecturally significant, steel and glass frame residence in Beverly Hills to a 22,000 sq. ft. 3-story, multi-use complex in Silicon Beach. With designs that accurately reflect the needs and aspirations of today’s design savvy, the Company continues to deliver spectacular spaces for high-profile clients in the entertainment arena.

Brunetz made appearances on 'AREA' for the Style Network, 'Crib Crashers' for MTV, 'Outer Spaces' for HGTV, 'Faking It' for TLC, 'Reality Remix' for Fox Reality Channel and '50 Most Outrageous TV Moments' for E!. In 2003, he shared hosting responsibilities with actress Niecy Nash and comedians Matt Iseman and Trish Suhr on Style Network's 'Clean House', 'Clean House: The Messiest Home in the Country' and 'Clean House Comes Clean' for which he served as consulting producer. In 2010, Brunetz received an Emmy Award for his work on 'Clean House: The Messiest Home in the Country'.

Brunetz has contributed to a variety of newspapers and magazines including the New York Times, LA Times, the Washington Post, Us Weekly and People and In Touch.[citation needed]

In 2006, Brunetz launched a line of home furnishings on the Home Shopping Network in partnership with Celebrity Licensing, Inc. based in Hollywood, Florida.

In 2010, Brunetz co-authored Take the U Out of Clutter with NY Times best-selling author Carmen Renee Berry for Penguin Books.

In 2017, Mark combined his experience in design and production to launch UCURIO UCURIO, a boutique creative + design consultancy that produces branded content for companies looking to enrich their relationships with consumers and/or design professionals. With clients such as Princess Cruises and Carlisle Wide Plank Flooring, the Company’s work has been published in Architectural Digest, Vanity Fair and other top-tier shelter magazines.

In 2020, Mark founded Missio Home MISSIO HOME, an artisanal home goods company that partners with top designers and artisans to create signature product lines. With customers in the U.S. and Canada, the company continues to expand its product offerings creating alliances with manufacturers throughout the U.S., South Africa, Peru and Mexico.

Throughout Mark’s career, social impact has always played a pivotal role in his work. Serving as National Vice-Chair for Workout for Hope for the City of Hope in Duarte, California, to spearheading a makeover of The Big Issue, one of the largest charities in Cape Town, South Africa, Mark remains a consummate champion for social good.

Mark currently serves as the National Spokesperson for Design For A Difference™ Design For A Difference for which he co-founded in partnership with the International Design Guild. To date, the designer-driven movement has contributed nearly $8M and counting in goods and services to local charities in the U.S. and Canada.

As of 2021, Brunetz lives in Glendale, California.
