Marry Me is an upcoming American romantic comedy film directed by Kat Coiro, with a screenplay by John Rogers, Tami Sagher and Harper Dill, based on the graphic novel of the same name by Bobby Crosby.[1] The film will star Jennifer Lopez, Owen Wilson, Sarah Silverman, John Bradley, Michelle Buteau, Chloe Coleman and Maluma.
Marry Me is scheduled to be released on February 11, 2022 by Universal Pictures.
Premise[]
After learning that her on-stage partner (Maluma) has been having an affair behind her back, a sensational Latin popstar (Jennifer Lopez) chooses to marry a stranger (Owen Wilson) holding a "Marry Me" sign at her live concert.
The film is based on the comic Marry Me. This comic was originally released as a webcomic.

Production[]
In April 2019, it was announced that Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson would star in the romantic comedy film Marry Me. Kat Coiro would direct, from a screenplay by John Rogers, Tami Sagher and Harper Dill, based upon the graphic novel of the same name by Bobby Crosby, and STX Entertainment would distribute.[2] In July 2019, it was announced Universal Pictures would distribute the film instead of STX.[3] That same month, Sarah Silverman, John Bradley and Maluma joined the cast of the film.[4] Michelle Buteau, Jameela Jamil and Chloe Coleman were cast in October.[5][6][7]
Filming[]
Principal photography began in and around New York City in October 2019,[8] and concluded on November 22.[9]

Marry Me Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is the upcoming accompanying soundtrack to the film. It will be released by Sony Music Latin and Arista Records.[10]
Background[]
While promoting her single "Medicine" in April 2019, Lopez told Ebro Darden of Beats 1 radio that the next album she releases will "probably be with a new movie".[11] In February 2020, she officially announced that she would be releasing a new album alongside Marry Me that would also serve as the film's soundtrack.[12] She told Jimmy Fallon that the album would feature "six or eight" songs performed by herself and "two or three" songs performed by Maluma, as well as a duet between the two that is performed as both an uptempo and a ballad.[13]

Release[]
Universal Pictures will release Marry Me on February 11, 2022.[16] It was previously set for February 12, 2021, but was delayed to May 14, 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, until it was moved to February 11, 2022 because of another shift in the release schedule.[17] [18]
