Marusyllus is a genus of spiders in the family Salticidae, found in Russia, Central Asia, the Indian subcontinent and China.[1]

Taxonomy[]

The genus Marusyllus was erected by Jerzy Prószyński in 2016 when he split the genus Yllenus into three (the other genus being Logunyllus, now considered a synonym of Pseudomogrus). Prószyński placed the three genera in his informal group "yllenines".[2] Yllenus sensu lato is placed in the tribe Leptorchestini, part of the Salticoida clade in the subfamily Salticinae.[3]
