In October 2021, Network 10 announced that MasterChef Australia will return for its 14th season in 2022. The format, to be known as Fans & Favourites,[1] will feature 12 new contestants and 12 former contestants, including Julie Goodwin, Alvin Quah, Sarah Todd and Michael Weldon.[2] The season is expected to premiere on 18 April 2022.[3]
The season was initially announced as Foodies Vs. Favourites.[2] In January 2022 production was temporarily halted after several members of the production team contracted the COVID-19 virus. The judges, cast and crew are all fully vaccinated against the virus.[1]
