Maurice E Megennis (16 November 1929 – 4 August 2020) was a male weightlifter who competed for England.[1]
Weightlifting career[]
He competed in the 1952 and 1956 Olympics Games.
He represented England in the -56kg division at the 1950 British Empire Games in Auckland, New Zealand.[2] Four years later he won the gold medal for England at the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games.[3]
Personal life[]
He was born in London but lived in Leeds.
