Mazhavaraayas

Mazhavaraayas or Mazhavars were the Polygars of Ariyalur.They belong to the Padaiyachi sub-division of the Palli or Vanniyan Caste.[1][2][3].The title of this polygar was Nayanar.[4]

In 1735, Rangappa Mazhavaraaya of Ariyalur donated 175 acres (71 ha) of land to a church.[5]
