McLean Independent School District

McLean Independent School District is a public school district based in McLean, Texas (USA). Located in Gray County, small portions of the district extend into Collingsworth, Donley, and Wheeler counties. The community of Alanreed also lies within the district. McLean ISD has one school that serves students in grades pre-kindergarten through 12. In 2009, the school district was rated "recognized" by the Texas Education Agency.[1]

McLean ISD is one of approximately 66 school districts across Texas that competes in Division 1 six-man football.[2] The McLean Tigers belong to District 1 and compete against the Follett Panthers, the Kress Kangaroos, the Hart Longhorns, and the Valley Patriots.

McLean competes in District 4 in basketball against the Groom Tigers, the Shamrock Irish, the Hedley Owls, and the Lefors Pirates.
