Michael M. Greenwood (born 9 April 1935) is an English former footballer who played as a midfielder.
Career[]
Greenwood, who played as an amateur for Bishop Auckland at the time, represented Great Britain at the 1960 Summer Olympics,[1] making one appearance in the tournament.[2][3] He combined his football career with working as a PE teacher.[4]
He later worked at the National Sports Centre at Lilleshall Hall and was also employed by the Sports Council in West Yorkshire.[4]
Later life[]
Greenwood is retired; in April 2012 he was living in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.[4] He organises reunions for the surviving players of the 1960 Olympic squad.[4]
In April 2012, Greenwood publicly expressed a number of concerns about the British team due to compete at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.[4]
