Midori (美登里) is a sexuality writer, speaker, and sex educator.[1] She writes on alternative sexual practices, including BDSM and sexual fetishism, including bondage, foot fetishism, Japanese bondage and shoe fetishism.[1][2] She is based in San Francisco, California.[3][4]
Biography[]
Midori was born in Kyoto, Japan, of Japanese and German parents. She grew up in Tokyo and moved to the United States at age 14.[5] Midori studied psychology at University of California, Berkeley.[5] She served as a United States Army Reserve Intelligence officer while earning a degree.[citation needed] Early in her career she also worked as a condom manufacturer's sales representative.[5] She spent a few years as a sex educator with San Francisco Sex Information.[5][6]
Midori internationally teaches courses on sex, feminine dominance, Shibari Japanese bondage, and kink workshops.[7][8][9][10]
In 2019, she was an inductee of the Society of Janus Hall of Fame.[11] In 2003, she received the "Woman of the Year" award as part of the Pantheon of Leather Awards.[12]
