Miguel Armando Ubeto Aponte (born 2 September 1976 in Caracas) is a Venezuelan former professional road racing cyclist. He turned professional in 2012 with Androni Giocattoli–Venezuela before signing with the UCI World Tour team Lampre–Merida for 2013.[1] In 2011 he won the UCI America Tour.[2]
In May 2013, Ubeto was provisionally suspended for an adverse finding of GW501516.[3] He was later banned for two years.[4]
As a result of this Adverse Analytical Finding (AAF) for the use of GW1516, the UCI suspended Ubeto for 14 months for this Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV). The dates of his this suspension were from 16-04-2013 to 5-06-2014.[5]
Following this suspension, Ubeto won the gold medal in the men's cycling road race at the 2015 Pan-American championships in Toronto Canada.[6] The Pan-American games are held once every 4 years, with the next games to be held in Lima, Peru in 2019.[7]
On 7 July 2018, while riding for the team "Venezuela País de Futuro", Uberto won the 3rd stage in the Vuelta a Venezuela.[8]
On 1 August 2018, Uberto was provisionally suspended[9] by the UCI for "Use of Prohibited Methods and/or Prohibited Substances"[10][11]
