Minami-yorii Station (みなみ寄居駅, Minami-Yorii-eki) is a passenger railway station in the town of Yorii, Saitama, Japan, operated by the private railway operator Tōbu Railway.[1][2]

Lines[]

Minami-yorii Station is served by the Tōbu Tōjō Line from Ikebukuro in Tokyo, and is located 68.9 km from the Ikebukuro terminus. During the daytime, the station is served by two "Local" (all-stations) trains per hour in each direction between Ogawamachi and Yorii. There are no direct trains to or from Ikebukuro.

Station layout[]

The platform which corresponds to a four-car train has a 90 m length.[3]

As fares have special circumstances, when passengers get off you use separate baffle gates.[4] Besides, when you ride on inbound trains you are able to purchase the tickets and you available on automatic ticket gate. But, when you go to outbound you cannot available on automatic ticket gate and purchase the tickets, so you have to get certificate that ride on the trains(乗車証明書).[4]

History[]

In November 2018, in conjunction with Honda Motor's decision to relocate its factory from Sayama to Yorii, Tōbu Railway was approached to open a new station to help alleviate anticipated traffic congestion on Japan National Route 254 will have to have due to relocate the factory. The construction began in June 2019 and the new station opened on October 31, 2020.[5][6]
