Luisa Ionela Luca (born August 22, 1988, Slobozia, Ialomița, Romania), known professionally as Minelli, is a Romanian singer, songwriter and lyricist.

Biography[]

Minelli was born on August 22, 1988, and began singing at the age of 11, when she formed a band in her hometown.[1] In 2004 she moved to Bucharest, and between 2006 and 2009, she was a member of the band Wassabi. After the band disbanded, Minelli focused on her solo career and began working as a singer, songwriter and lyricist.[2]

Music career[]

The international hit "Rampampam" was released on March 18, 2021, in Romania and Russia by Global Records.[3] The single was composed by Minelli and Viky Red, written by Minelli and produced by Viky Red.[4] "Rampampam" ranked first on the official charts of Belarus,[5] Bulgaria,[6] the Czech Republic,[7] Hungary,[8] the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS),[9] Lithuania[10] and Russia,[11] and ranked second in the charts in Romania,[12] Poland[13] and Ukraine.[14] In the week ending August 28, 2021, "Rampampam" reached number 139 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart.[15] With this single, Minelli won the award for The most listened to song internationally at The Artist Awards 2021, an annual music event held in Romania, organized by Big Events in partnership with the Romanian Opera from Craiova.[16]

As a songwriter and lyricist, Minelli's repertoire includes "Inimi de ceară" (2017) performed by Andra,[17] "Touch Me" (2019) performed by Antonia[18] or "Flashbacks" (2021) performed by Inna.[19]

Personal life[]

Minelli met Lucian Luca in 2007 at a recording studio, and later the two married.[20] In 2010, they became parents when Sarah Maria, their first child, was born. In 2017 the artist gave birth to her second child, a boy named Filip.[21]
