Miwa Asao (浅尾 美和, Asao Miwa, born 2 February 1986 in Suzuka, Mie) is a female Japanese beach volleyball player. Referred to in media reports as the "pixie of beach volleyball" or simply "pixie of the beach" for her small stature and good looks, Asao helped to popularize beach volleyball in Japan. She became a national celebrity from the many articles written on her in Japanese magazines and newspapers, and through her numerous appearances on television.[2][3]

Career[]
After graduating from high school, she signed a contract with artist Kawahe Shunichi to develop her career as a beach volleyball player and model.
She started her volleyball career in 2000 and officially became a beach volleyball player in 2004.
In 2007 and 2008, she took part in 8 large-scale advertisers, including major brands such as "Panasonic Electric" and "Honda Motors"
In addition to advertisements, she has published two photo albums with DVDs and three calendars in her own name. The 2009 affiliates were sold out one week after the public sale.
Miwa Asao is considered to be the soul of the Japanese beach volleyball craze. She has the reputation of "Beach Fairy" and "Beach Beauty". Although her performance in the international arena is not very dazzling, her appearance and body make her a model. Makes her shines brightly in the model industry.
In 2008, she was voted by Japanese netizens as the champion of "Bronze Hot Girl", and later became one of the "Female Sports Players Who Want to be Kissed the Most".
Retirement[]
On December 10, 2012, Miwa Asao announced her retirement.
On April 2, 2013, she married an ordinary person.
On December 16, 2014, a baby boy was born.
On November 27, 2016, the second baby boy was born.
Dispute[]
In 2008, Miwa Asao mentioned in her blog that when she was preparing for the Olympic Village, news came that her sister Miki Asao had died in a car accident.
As a result, many Japanese reporters interviewed her for this. At the time, Miwa Asao, who was upset and crying, told the media, "I'm going to compete soon. Please pay more attention to my family affairs. Put it on the field!" Then she left, and the result was criticized by the public.

On February 19, 2013, Mika Asao’s show on Fuji TV revealed that when she was an official player, she received a huge 200 million yen invitation to appear naked.
Asao Miwa said: "Actually, I was told by someone from a company that had already exited, saying that someone once invited me to appear naked and offered a high price of 200 million yen. Although I couldn't make it, I was shocked when I heard it.
