The Moscow Marathon is a major running and sporting event held annually in Moscow, Russia. The official marathon distance of 42.195 kilometers (26 miles 385 yards) is set up as a citywide road race where professional athletes and amateur runners jointly participate. First initiated in 2013, as a successor of Moscow International Peace Marathon (est. 1980), the event traditionally takes place on the last weekend in September.[1]

Moscow Marathon certified by IAAF.[2] It is a member of AIMS.[3]

Moscow Marathon is one of the largest and most popular road races in Russia. In 2016 alone the race had 28,000 enrolled starters from 70 countries.

The 2021 edition of the race was postponed to 2022 due to the coronavirus pandemic.[4][5][6]
