Mount Lanyon

Mount Lanyon (

71°15′S 67°10′E / 71.250°S 67.167°E / -71.250; 67.167Coordinates: 71°15′S 67°10′E / 71.250°S 67.167°E / -71.250; 67.167) is a large mountain about 11 nautical miles (20 km) south of Taylor Platform in the Prince Charles Mountains of Antarctica. The mountain is divided in the south by a small, plateau-fed glacier and an area of moraine extends eastward from the mountain for 8 nautical miles (15 km). It was plotted from Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions air photos of 1956 and 1960, and was named by the Antarctic Names Committee of Australia for , officer in charge at Wilkes Station in 1965.[1]
