Haji Muhammad Hanif Ansari (Urdu: محمد حنیف انصاری‎) was a politician, businessman and philatelist from Faisalabad.

Early life[]

Ansari was born December 23, 1937 at Mansuran Village, Ludhiana district in East Punjab in British India. After the partition of India came to Pakistan and graduated from government college Faisalabad in 1960.

Social work[]

He served as the General Secretary of Jamiat Itehad-Ul-Ansar Faisalabad in 1973–1985.[citation needed]

Political life[]

He was elected a Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from Ghulam Muhammad Abad in non-party election 1985.[citation needed]

Philatelist[]

He was an advanced stamp collector, specializing in Pakistan, and became a member of the "Glasgow Philatelic Society" and the Philatelic Traders Society during his stay in U.K. visiting an international stamp exhibition. His knowledge and appreciation of philately soon promoted him to president of Pakistan Philatelic Writers League, Vice President of Pakistan Stamp Dealers and Associates, Lahore Commissioner for National Stamp Exhibition "Pak philex 83" for Faisalabad and advisor of the stamps catalogue "Collect Pakistan Postage Stamps".

Death[]

He was injured in a road accident on 20 April 1985. He was admitted to Mayo Hospital, Lahore. Ge died on 30 April.[citation needed]
