Mumtaz Ali Shah is a Pakistani civil servant who serves in BPS-22 grade as Chief Secretary Sindh. Hailing from Sindh, Shah belongs to the esteemed Pakistan Administrative Service and was previously serving as the Federal Secretary for Maritime Affairs.[1]

Career[]

Mumtaz Ali Shah serves as the Chief Secretary Sindh. He previously served as the Federal Secretary for Maritime Affairs. Shah has also briefly tenured as the Federal Secretary for the Ministry of Religious Affairs.[2][3]

Prior to his elevation to Grade 22 in 2017, Shah served on many positions in the Government of Sindh. Positions he held in Sindh include Additional Chief Secretary (Home), Chairman Enquiries & Anti-Corruption Establishment, Secretary Works and Services, Secretary Information Department, Secretary General Administration and Secretary Population Welfare.[4]

In the beginning of his career he served as assistant commissioner Multan and Dera Ghazi Khan in Punjab.[5]

He has also previously served as District Coordinating Officer (DCO) for Badin, Mirpurkhas and Nasirabad in Balochistan.
