Murar is a village in Kapurthala district of Punjab State, India. It is located 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) from Kapurthala, which is both the district and sub-district headquarters. The village is administrated by a Sarpanch, who is an elected representative.

According to the 2011 Census of India, Murar has 412 houses with the total population of 1,987 persons of which 1,051 are male and 936 females.
