myThings is a personalized retargeting specialist providing advertisers with display ads (banners), in real time, for visitors who have left their sites without completing a purchase. These users are served ads as they continue surfing the web. Personalized retargeting is a form of online targeted advertising, in which online advertising is delivered to consumers based on their previous actions (such as pages browsed, products added to basket) on a company's website or app.

myThings was the first company in Europe to offer online retailers a CPA business model,[citation needed] which sees advertisers paying only for conversions or pre-agreed actions, instead of clicks. myThings also supports traditional CPM and CPC models.

History[]

Founded in 2005, myThings operates in the online and mobile display advertising and affiliate marketing industry. myThings has offices in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and Israel. In 2010, myThings partnered with Affiliate Window[1] to present the first CPA based affiliate retargeting solution on the market that integrates into advertisers' existing affiliate tags. The solution won the Econsultancy Award[2] in Affiliate Marketing in March 2011.

Partnerships[]

myThings has over 200 partnerships with online retailers and brands, European affiliate networks, attribution and analytics platforms, ad networks and advertising agencies. Customers include Orange Mobile, PriceMinister, Microsoft Store, MisterGooddeal, Telecom Italia and Booking.com.[citation needed]

Product[]

myThings offers adaptive retargeting ads generated in real-time, for each user based on previous interactions with the advertiser's website. Each ad is optimized to maximum relevancy for the user.[citation needed]

Funding[]

In January 2011, Deutsche Telekom's venture capital firm T-Venture invested $6 million in myThings[3][4] alongside previous backers, Accel Partners, Carmel Ventures, Dot Corp and GP Bullhound.

According to "All Things Digital",[5] other companies considered competition in the CPC retargeting field include Criteo.

Privacy[]

myThings is an active member of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and is in full compliance with international regulations and the EU standards of privacy. The company is a signatory of the IAB EU framework presented to the UK Government as self-regulatory measures on behalf of the behavioral targeting industry.[6] The UK government has recently expressed its support of the framework.[7]

myThings technology utilizes cookies in the delivery of advertisements. The cookies do not collect any Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Prospects are informed on how the retargeting service works, and are able to opt-out of the service at any time.[citation needed]

Achievements and awards[]

In partnership with Commission Junction, myThings was shortlisted for the A4U awards in 4 categories:[8] Affiliate Marketing innovation, Best 3rd party application, Best new entrant and Best retail advertiser with Hotel Chocolat. The company was recently nominated by Media Momentum as one of the top 50 fastest growing digital media companies in Europe.
