NSU German History X is the American name for the 2016 German TV mini-series, Mitten in Deutschland: NSU. The 3-part series dramatizes the true events and characters of the National Socialist Underground, a neo-Nazi German terrorist group which was uncovered in November 2011. The name was changed for American audiences to imply a relationship to the 1998 American film American History X[citation needed], however, there is no other direct relationship between the two.

The show was licensed and syndicated by Netflix for US audiences in 2017 however was removed in July 2020.[1][2]

Episodes[]

The story is told through three 90-minute episodes. Episode one shows how Beate Zschäpe became involved in the group, along with Uwe Mundlos and Uwe Böhnhardt. Episode two focuses on the victims of their terror campaigns, and episode three focuses on the police investigation which ultimately uncovered and thwarted the group.[3]
