Nadeem Farooq Paracha (Urdu: ندیم فاروق پراچہ‎) is a Pakistani journalist,[1][2][3] author, cultural critic, satirist[4] and historian.[5][6][7] He is a columnist for Pakistan's largest English language daily Dawn newspaper.[8][9][10] He was also a part of Atish Raj, an industrial and avant-garde rock band.

He is the author of five books on the social and political history of Pakistan: The Pakistan Anti-Hero, End of the Past, and .[11] His fifth book, , a political and social history of Sufism in Pakistan, was published in February 2020.[12]

Paracha is also a Research Scholar and Reagan-Fascell Fellow at the International Forum for Democratic Studies in Washington DC.[13] and a consultant for Adcom Leo Burnett Worldwide.

Paracha was a radical Marxist student leader in the 1980s. He was often considered to be a socialist when he joined journalism in the 1990s. However, over the last decade he has often described himself as a Muslim modernist, a progressive Pakistani nationalist, and a democrat. He is also a harsh critic of postmodernism and is staunchly against the mixing of religion with politics.[14][15]
