Nadia Jamil (Urdu: نادیہ جمیل) (Born: October 19, 1980) (also known as Nadia Fazal Jamil) is a Pakistani actress and host who is known for Balu Mahi, Behadd[5][6][7] and Damsa, a story about child trafficking.[8]

Early life and education[]

Jamil was born in London on October 19, 1980 but moved to Lahore when she was nine. She did her schooling from Convent of Jesus and Mary, Lahore.[9] She holds degree of Master in English literature.[10]

Jamil did Bachelor’s in Drama and Creative Writing from Hampshire College, USA.[11] She also studied from Allegheny College . She also completed her International Fellowship at the Globe Theatre, London.

Career[]

Jamil is a Pakistani actress[12][13] and hosts for past two decades. Jamil started her career in 1990s.[14]

Jamil is a trustee of Sunjan Nagar, which is Raza Kazim’s school for financially-deprived girls. She performed theatre project with them at Al-Hamra. She also serves as an ambassador for Girl Rising, a project which raises awareness about girls' education. She teaches theatre and drama and is working on few projects with institutes like Oxford University Press, Aitchison, Kids Campus. She is married to Ali Pervaiz and is mother to two sons Rakae and Mir Vali.[15]

Cancer[]

In April 2020, Jamil was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer/grade 3 tumour.[16][17] She underwent successful surgery soon afterwards[18] and by August was out of danger.[19]

Jamil has worked in a video "Alvida" which is about cancer awareness campaign.[20]
