History[]

NTC Logistics India Pvt. Ltd. was founded by Mr.K.Chandramohan, Mr. Raajasundaram, Mr. N. Thillaiarasan and Mr. S. Muthusamy in 1997. Originally incorporated as Namakkal Transport Carriers Pvt. Ltd. in 2001 and offering Over Dimensional Cargo (ODC) transportation,[4] [5]

Projects[]

Chennai Metro[]

In 2013, Namakkal Transport Carriers Pvt. Ltd. successfully shipped Chennai Metro rail coaches from the Alstom unit in Sao Paulo, Brazil to Chennai Port and subsequently transported them to Koyambedu depot using hydraulic axles. The first batch of trains arrived in the Chennai Port Trust on May 31, 2013, and was unloaded at the Koyambedu depot on June 7, 2013.

Mannar Project, Sri Lanka[]

With a capacity to handle wind turbine blades of up to 72 meters, the largest in India, NTC Logistics successfully dealt with the logistics of 38 Wind Turbines in Sri Lanka, in 2020. The logistics for a large wind power project of 100 Megawatt generation capacity for the Ceylon Electricity Board in 2020 saw unusual challenges such as shallow sea berth making it difficult and prohibitively expensive to obtain environmental clearances, dredge, and building jetty. NTC also successfully deployed Pullers, Prime Movers, Hydraulic Axles, Extendable & Mechanical Trailers, Blade Adaptors for road movement and a fleet of heavy-duty cranes for material handling.[citation needed]

Transformer Logistics, Uttarakhand[]

Koteshwar Sub-station, Uttarakhand – Logistics for one of the world's largest transformer manufacturer This 2019 project involved transporting 14 transformers weighing 136 Tons each on specialized transport equipment. The project was successfully delivered despite having to transport them to Koteshwar Hills, 8000 above sea level. It included challenges such as creating a temporary infrastructure for transport including road widening, rock blasting, overhead structure removals, and gradient normalisation. Moreover, there was a limited transportation window due to which operations had to be continued in a temperature as low as freezing minus 3 degrees°C. The infrastructure has eased the locals' daily commutes.[6]

Shreevari Energy Systems was established in April 2006. The company specializes in Engineering design process design, manufacturing, engineering and erection services for the Boiler, High Pressure boiler auxiliaries like Air Preheater, Rotary Regenerative, Tubular Air Preheater, and Electrostatic precipitators. Shreevari Energy Systems also provides heat transfer and pollution control equipment for Power and Chemical sector customers worldwide and can provide complete turnkey services for the power industry related to APH and ESP equipment.[7]

NTC Logistics[]

NTC Logistics Pvt. Ltd. (NTC), a sister concern of Namakkal Transport Carriers Pvt Ltd was incorporated in 2008. NTC Logistics is engaged in freight forwarding services including air freight, sea freight, road transport and has CHA licenses to facilitate inbound and outbound shipment services . NTC has a joint venture with VGC –Vasco Gallega, Spain, a logistics provider in the European, South American and African countries. The company is a member of IATA, FIATA, MTO and FFFAI.[8][9]

NTC Training Academy LLP[]

NTC Training Academy was established in 2011 for providing technical education including heavy vehicle license training. The college, situated at Namakkal was inaugurated by then Revenue Minister of Tamil Nadu, P. Thangamani.
