Nanjil Sampath is an Indian politician and public speaker in the DMK party in Tamil Nadu. He has also acted in a few Tamil movies.[1]

Early life[]

Sampath's given name, "", denotes his home district, Kanyakumari. His parents are Baskaran and Gomathi in Manalikarai. He completed his schooling at St Mary Goretty School, Manalikarai and his MA and MPhil degrees from South Travancore Hindu College.

Political career[]

Sampath left AIADMK on 3 January 2017 (after V. K. Sasikala was elected), only to rejoin on 7 January 2017. When he left, he announced that he was retiring from Tamil Nadu politics. He was previously with Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) party in 2012 which he left to join AIADMK.[2] He served as deputy propaganda secretary from when he joined until 1 February 2016.[3] He campaigned for the DMK Party in the 2019 general elections.
