Since their formation in 2005, Voina performs agitation in public space and openly critiques the Putin administration.

Natalia Sokol has been involved in the Voina works such as: Mordovian Hour, 2007, Throwing Cats in McDonald's;[1] Fuck for the heir Puppy Bear!;[2] Decembrists Commemoration;[3] Storming the White House;[4] Cock in the Ass;[5] Leo the Fucknut is Our President!;[6] Dick Captured by KGB[7] Palace Revolution[8] and others.

In 2012 Natalia together with other leaders of Voina was announced as an associated curator of Berlin Biennale.[9][10]

On April 28, 2015 Natalia Sokol asked for political asylum in Switzerland.[11] Vorotnikov stated (in an interview with Radio Free Europe) that the family wanted to return Russia but worries about the fate of their three children prevented this.[12]
